Anyone willing to admit they subscribe to O Magazine, or have access to it? There's apparently a very positive story about Cleveland on page 94 of the current issue. Not available online, so it would have to be scanned...

It came out about 2 weeks ago in a "place to be" section.  Let me see what I can do.

CLEVELAND -- Most residents know northeast Ohio is a great place to live. Now the queen of talk knows it, too.

According to NewsChannel5, there's a full-page write-up on Cleveland in the October edition of "O" magazine ...

Holy Cow! When oprah promotes something it sells. Be it butt cream or fictional non- fiction books, it sells. woo hoo!

rumor is steadman hearts the cleve!

Did you hear on the football game? The announcer was liek "We're in beautiful downtown Cleveland. And I'm not joking, this city is being revitalized."

I was thinking "Thanks, I guess!" It's like someone walking up to you and saying "Hey, you look great. Not so fat!"

I heard it.

I read the story when it was posted on NewsNet5.  Always good to get an endorsement from Oprah.

^ lol, I know what you mean.

And I want Oprah to give my commuter train project a million-dollar grant. Too bad neither will happen!

Can we get Ms. Hilton to say the Cleveland is hot?!  lol!!!

Can we get Ms. Hilton to say the Cleveland is hot?!  lol!!!

ahh no.  We're on a "positive" roll.  We don't need a triflin' sleazy ex-convicts worthless endorsement!

What we need is a Lindsay Lohan fender bender on Euclid to get the celebrity buzz going!

Hey--

I wrote the Oprah article (me, Shaker Heights resident). It was great to have a chance to rave about the city!

Here's a pdf.

oh wait. I don't know how to upload it. suggestions?

Welcome to the forum!

If you'd like to attach the article:

- Hit "reply" and look for the "Additional Options" below the reply box.

- Click the arrow next to "Additional Options" and you should see an option to "Attach".

- Select "Choose File" next to "Attach" and that should open a browser window so you can select your PDF.

If that doesn't work, there are other options so let us know how we can help.

here's the pdf.

great stuff!  Nice to see a one-pager that hits on some of the more local haunts (Banyan Tree, etc.), in addition to the big boys (Severance, etc.).  Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for sharing!

Nice piece, Anne!

Great job, thanks so much!

Thanks! They approached me, and they wanted the Orchestra featured.

I do want you all to know that I did NOT originally start w/the "burning river" lead. I very much did not want that cliche in there. But while my editor and her editor did not need convincing of Cleveland's merits, the boss of them wasn't convinced of our fair city's charms, so we had to add  some stuff. Sigh.

Thanks for the nice words (and no, Oprah Winfrey has nothing to do w/any of it. I loved seeing someone report somewhere that "Oprah Winfrey loves Cleveland!" That' like saying Rupert Murdoch loves something if a rave comes out in something he owns....)

Jamie, Jamie, Jamie......I have had such high hopes for you.  Maybe I should lower my expectations.  :|
