BOTP...I have some of those on DVD!  I loved that show!  Have you ever seen the original?  It's called Gatchaman and is quite a bit less sanitary than the BOTP version which was cleaned up for American children.  There was no 7Zark7 or 1Rover1, which were obviously rips from Star Wars which was popular during those years.

Mostly I recall fondly the ones we were forced to watch in school as part of our "education" as I was growing up in Louisville, KY. They were on KET.  How can I forget when the lights would go low and the thrill of holding hands with (nameless girl) during the broadcast.

If your experience was close to mine you may remember the following:

- 321 Contact (with The Bloodhound Gang)  [can still still both songs]

[youtube=425,350]-4273oOYy7s

- Julius Sumner Miller (loved...LOVED this guy! R.I.P.)

[youtube=425,350]KCcZyW-6-5o   LOL at 8:05!!!

- Trade/Offs (was a show to educate you on how to negotiate payment for mowing the grass so you could go to the store and buy junk food)

Edit: I have since found this is part of the THinkAbout series from AIT which also featured "Inside/Out"  Great stuff!  Love the guys voice.

- The Letter People (Shhhh-iiiii-tttt)

[youtube=425,350]JIpm6M6ecBM

- The Electric Company (with Bill Cosby in Picture Pages...so was the black guy form Shawshank...name escapes me)

- Mr Goodbody??

I'm amazed nobody has mentioned Knight Rider or The A-Team, both of which were stand up action series.  I also liked the more obscure "Blue Thunder" which was basically an Apache-esque gunship that blew stuff up.  I don't think there was any plot besides that.

I call these types the "Super Shows" because they had everything a man could want: Action, humor, tough guys, sweet vehicles, one-liners and easy women. Most of today's TV is aimed at women.

twnipper...I liked Julius Sumner Miller's physics lessons too.  He was a cranky old bastard with armpit stains and unconventional teaching methods, but he was at least interesting.

I can't believe you can't remeber the name Morgan Freeman, "the black guy from Shawshank"!

I'm an old school Transformers, Thundercats, Voltron, Tranzor Z kinda guy. Anything that had robots that transformed or things that blew up pretty much managed to hold my attention for a half hour.

I freaking HATED the Transformers movie, though! I knew Michael Bay would tear it to shit.

Cartoons were never really my fare ... although I did love the Smurfs, the Snorks and, above all, Thundercats. Most of my television watching was sitcoms ... Family Ties (a personal fave), Webster, Head of the Class, Gimme a Break, Silver Spoons, Growing Pains, My Two Dads, Out of This World. Game shows were a big hit for me too ... particularly Press Your Luck, Rodeo Drive and Shop 'til You Drop (see? Gay people really ARE born). Kid game shows were good too, particularly Funhouse and Double Dare. I also watched some very STRANGE shows ... anyone remember Today's Special, where a mannequin comes to life? And let's not forget the cinematic masterpiece that was Alf.

I also totally got into the early years of Nick at Nite ... The Jeffersons, Sanford & Son, Dobie Gillis, Patty Duke, Carol Burnett, Dick Van Dyke, Mary Tyler Moore (jeez ... every show has a person's name in it).

Everyone loved the Muppets and Sesame Street, but I had this strange affinity for Zoobilee Zoo ... anyone remember that (see below)? The Fraggles rocked my world, and I also watched Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood, but it was my introduction to the concept of channel surfing ... I would flip through to see if he was in the Land of Make Believe or in his boring-ass real life. I loved Lady Elaine (the villainess of the Land of Make Believe). Again, gay people are born ...

You will know be know officially known as "Papa 8ShadesofGray Smurf"   Some of those shows I couldn't get into.  I love silver spoons, justin bateman was hillarious and upstaged everyone on the show and the set reminded me of our drawing room in my parents home.  I loved the Jeffersons, Ms. Helen brought us fashions and hair and the original Lionel was hot!  Ms. Carol Burnett - A show ahead of its time.  DVD & MTM annoyed the hell out of me.  However, I loved, loved, loved, Ted Knights Southgate USA commercials.  The land of Make Believe......child, you reached for that one!!!    I love me some Maude & Mary Hartmann, Mary Hartmann though!  Shop til you drop didn't reach it potential to me, it was to grocery store lezbo...they should have had better tie-in's with upscale department stores and designers and that show would have been off the chain.  Alf, I was soooooooo upset when that show was cancelled.  It was a scream!  Today it would definitely work as a cable show, because of the content, 'cause ALF was of the chain!

Game shows I wish that would come back, Jokers Wild, the dating game and Match Game I loved those shows.  I also must admit one of my current trashy TV guilty pleasures is watching the show Cheaters!

We loved making fun of his pit stains...he was definitely better than Mr. Smith's 5th period science lecture.  We loved when we got to watch this guy.

Morgan Freeman...remember now, thanks!

Does anybody remember the Inside/Out and Trade/Offs shows or am I the only one?  They were SOOOO 70's!!!

Shop 'til You Drop was the chit...I am ashamed to admit I watched it with my mom.  We always thought the juxtaposition of the all men teams against the hen-pecked husbands and doughy wives or the government office worker lady duos was amusing.

I liked the Transformer movie though.

Other random show I like, mostly b/c of the theme song - The Great American Hero.

This song?
