Looks like a town that needs an un-cladding!  Seriously there at least a half-dozen victims of random vinyl/aluminum/wood/stucco cladding of the upper floors in that small downtown set of pictures.  Here are three to start with:

There are no pictures or mention of the big fire in the spring that destroyed several downtown buildings. I was there in April, not long after the fire, but haven't heard anything about reconstruction.

Interesting. I remember a gravel area on the courthouse side of the street (I think that would be the west side),  but I just assumed it was from a demolition

 

I'm thinking the gravel area was just to the right of this building:

UrbanSurfin: There was a ton of stuff in the Blade about the fire.  I would try doing a search on their website--they generally do a good job of providing related stories.
