February 23, 20223 yr We’ve got ourselves some World Class Signage at last!🤣 At the corner of Superior and W 3rd. Would love to see renderings and have banners wrap around more of the construction site, but at least it’s better than nothing at all…

March 1, 20223 yr C'mon guys, this is March 1st not April 1st! Please tell me this won't turn into a long term construction stoppage.

I've only read countless stories of construction sites finding ancient bones and the archeology teams descending on them for months. It's been on the History Channel since I think 2014 or 15. It finds just enough stuff to keep me watching, but frustrates by not finding the Big Treasure. Next episode is tonight. To keep this on topic, I'll just post the link here.... https://www.history.com/shows/the-curse-of-oak-island BTW, I'll post an article with photos soon on the secret place they're building a mock-up of the SHW HQ right now. 😎 "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck

March 3, 20223 yr Author Nah, then they wouldn't have told me anything about this.... Sherwin-Williams HQ mocked-up in Flats By Ken Prendergast / March 3, 2022 If you don’t know what you’re looking for, you could drive right past the new $300+ million Sherwin-Williams (SHW) headquarters tower and not even know it. I mean, who would expect Cleveland’s fourth-tallest skyscraper to suddenly appear out of nowhere at the dank and dusty corner of Scranton and Carter roads on Scranton Peninsula in the Flats? March 4, 20223 yr Nice looking glass @KJP, Ken. Or is the mock up here not really indicative of the actual glass to be installed?

I would hope they have their glass supply and supplier ID'd by now. But if we see different glass types being installed at the test site, then perhaps they don't. March 4, 20223 yr Their final presentation had a brand listed for the glass panels. Though it wouldn't surprise me if they are still experimenting with things like opacity or reflectivity, hence the southern exposure.
March 4, 20223 yr enclos is no joke -- they clad the nyc jenga tower, the old wtc twins, the stratosphere in vegas and comcast in philly, among many others. that is a good omen. the pix even from a distance show quality glass and paneling. i would say from the looks of the mock ups its really going to enhance the looks of the tower a great deal! Edited March 4, 20223 yr by mrnyc
March 4, 20223 yr I noticed there is a building in NYC which looks similar, although tapered towards the top. I was hoping SHW would have done that.
March 4, 20223 yr Man, i know it's an created Google maps 3D image, but that's one frugly looking building. Maybe in real life it appears nicer.
March 5, 20223 yr Bank of America's headquarters (that's what that building is) is quite a nice tower. It definitely doesn't look like the Sherwin Williams Tower in real life. It's much more of an organic shape. Still geometric, but significantly less rigid and tapers and ends in a spire to embrace its height of 1,200 feet.
March 5, 20223 yr Random post, but I don’t get the sense anyone at SW has thought about birdsafe glass - anyone familiar?NEO is incredibly important for bird migrations, as many of you may know. Word has it that there is still time to sway company execs on this, although I’m still trying to track down how one might actually contact them (instead of public officials). Either way, please consider writing a letter.https://www.akronaudubon.org/s-w-building.htmlSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

There are some similarities, but I don't think they are as closely related as some other buildings might. It's one of the tallest in the NYC skyline and has a distinctive shape though, so SHW will be like it in that regard
March 7, 20223 yr ^ yeah the ny boa tower does resemble the sw hq tower somewhat. there are others that look more like it i would think. boa is also a similarly kind of bland, but very nice office building. from a pedestrian point of view, the street level with the subway entrance on the corner is outstanding, but otherwise no public access i don't think. from a personal angle, our friend's family sold a large property on the site for that building and made a mint!
