February 26, 20232 yr Quick photo from yesterday's drive across the Main Ave Bridcge. With the wife at the wheel I managed to capture a seagull overseeing the work! 😃
February 26, 20232 yr I don't know what l like better. Seeing all the people enjoying the Festival, the sunny day or the background with SHW beginning to poke its nose into the scene? Whichever, it's all good.

Typical tower crane sections are 20’ tall and eyeballing it, looks like they added maybe eight new sections so about 150 feet or more. And the good news is we still have a ways and more jumps to go. clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
March 1, 20232 yr Annnd it’s a little further away, but look closely and you can see the concrete pump (vertical structure below the crane). clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram

March 1, 20232 yr Today’s update - work/drilling is actively happening now on the Pavilion site, and the tower itself already seems massive and totally changes the feel of this area!! Actually feels more like a city already instead of a barren wasteland😅
March 1, 20232 yr Funny how the elevator core here and City Club have been following each other rise. Both seem to be working on floor 13.
March 2, 20232 yr Took this pic of One Kansas City place when I was there a couple years ago. Tallest building in Missouri at 623ft. So a perfect perspective on heightSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I lived in KC for a little of a year back in 2014/2015 and remember their downtown area have lots of trees/shrubs (ones that were alive too!) Let's hope the trees/shrubs that get planted around SW HQ are maintained and don't turn into depressing apocalyptic trees.

March 2, 20232 yr What an incredible impact this will have. I also can't believe we allowed a parking lot THAT BIG to last for decades. Seeing those photos now my eyes go to the other two large ones nearby ... lets hope they are filled as well.

March 3, 20232 yr Looks as if the construction has already begun on the visitor center directly in front of the 55 building! That last pic above, looking down Euclid, is quite impressive!!
March 3, 20232 yr I’ll do another tower update next week that shows the status of construction compared to the final design. I feel like at the rate they are going, every 2-3 weeks should be perfect.

The anticipation of the finished tower from this vantage and the impact this view will have on those traveling west on Euclid Avenue had to be one of the major reasons Picard Chilton was so adamant about NOT putting the tower on the former Jacobs lot. It might also be one reason they wanted to keep the Pavilion short. This will emphasize the openness of Public Square creating the finished look and feel of an outdoor living room. The tower then becomes the exclamation point at the end of Cleveland’s grandest avenue and the western wall of this space Just imagine a visitor walking down Euclid, transfixed on the massive tower in front of them only to be wowed by this beautiful public space with the grand architecture of the past reflected in the glass of the new hotshot kid on the block. Seems like a well thought out plan to me.

Instead, they search vainly for a welcoming bench to plop down to catch their breath before heading into Tower City to visit the iconic park and fountains.

Based on @KJP's photo above showing the building's central cement core and imagining an overlay of the rendering posted by @CleveFan, I would guess the vertical lighting will be visible, but skewed a bit to the right side from this viewpoint. Close enough. Cheers!
