Yeah like I said, probably just my brain not being able to comprehend the scale from the pictures. I'll be in downtown on Tuesday, so as long as the weather cooperates I'll take a stroll during lunch and try and get a feel for it in real life.

Bit of a stretch but if you zoom in you can see the SHW crane in this one, I'll be back with a non-cell camera to actually get this view again.

Another one that's a super stretch (and need good camera to capture it) but you can barely make out SHW crane.

A couple of really interesting vistas I've never seen before there!

Thanks, @GISguy Yeah that’s a very infrequently seen perspective of the city - man, will SW make a difference from that angle, too.  Really shows the dominance of our beloved Key Tower as well.

And can we get rid of the silos while we’re at it?

Some nighttime pics from Friday night after attending CIFF. Looking good! I couldn't snag a photo since I was driving, however, not only the elevator shaft, but honest-to-God steel is visible peeking over the Post Office Plaza when coming northbound over the Voinovich Bridge. My kids wouldn't let me stop the car on the innerbelt to gawk though 😂

Yep, it’s true - our Lyft driver wouldn’t stop either but I managed to snag a pic.

I wonder if the core shaft will shrink as it rises. Often not all elevators go to the top floor. We'll see.

Remember: It's the Year of the Snake

Frightening to me how well it fills in the gap looking West along Euclid.

Cesar Pelli (Key Tower architect) spoke of the “living room-like feel” Public Square will have with Society Tower and Ameritrust completed in the early 90’s. Obviously a bit delayed, and SW shifted one block west, but it seems like we’ll finally get that environment.

SWHQ crane creeping up, as seen in the middle of this photo.

Yes, the core will shrink.  From the final design submission in Nov 2021, it will shrink by the 18th floor.  It does not show the schematic for floors 15 - 17, but shows floor 18 with a smaller core on the North side of the building.  It looks like it will shrink again on the 29th floor, but it does not show floors 25 - 28.

It looks like they are working on the 15th floor of the core, so we should know soon.

Wow, that will likely block out BP Towe…err 200 Public Square when it is finished…

Probably. There may be a corner or two of "that building", whatever you call it, lol, that stick out, like where SWHQ's "rabbit ears" slope down in the middle. May allow for BP to stick out. Otherwise, yea, probably will be mostly blocked out.

Some photos from today at my downtown office (which I rarely go to any more). Pics from the top floor of the garage connected to 1111 Superior — and then the 26th floor of 1111 Superior. IMG_2212.thumb.jpg.31bc2736753858cc16e9fc711874e174.jpg

well now UO is requiring you to go into your office once a week to give us updates from that last pic's view. A time lapse would look so cool from that vantage point!

Are they pouring the foundation for the welcome center? Or are those cement trucks there just hanging out waiting for the core pour?

Yeah, they’ve started some foundation work on the shack.

Really enjoying all these great pics - not just of the new HQ, but all the cool perspectives of downtown.

A few people have commented about how SW will block views of 200 depending on where you’re looking from - true, but any big city with lots of buildings has that nice problem.

Conversely, there are some views that really expose a big gap in the skyline - like the top pic above by @MayDay- which are going to be dramatically improved by the new tower.

The lower pic, shows how  Euclid with its old beige stone buildings  is sure going to feel modernized when all that new blue glass is installed at the new big building dominating the view. Lovin it!!

The top of the hill on Cedar at Fairmount. It’s a perfect gap filler from there.

Could not have been placed better to fill this gap. Looking forward to seeing more than the crane.

A Full Day With No Updated Pictures. Anyone Else Need A Tissue!?

I’m in Cleveland for the Springsteen show last night at RMF (fantastic show) and this is the view of SW HQ from the 26th floor of the Hilton.

Amazing how, in jeremyck01's photos, just removing the acres of parking lots does SO MUCH to improve the looks of the whole area.  I had not appreciated how dramatic a change this would make even without the new building's completion.

I say replace the facade and cover it w glass, like the federal building (because we need the +400').  No doubt it's ugly though.  Has the core jumped to 16?  The steel looks like it's running up fast!

It looks like the next level pour on the core will be 16.

Looks like we've got some foundation concrete laid for the paint museum building....

I love how the pics are just teasers- I was just on Rockwell and E.9th today and the presence of the new tower, even with roughly 1/3 of it completed, is huge.
