May 25, 20232 yr Does anyone have an educated guess how many workers are on site any given day? 300? 500? I'm guessing the local restaurants are very, very happy with this project. I went to lunch about a month back at Johnny's Little Bar and one of the iron workers came in to pick up food. He was in and out so I couldn't ask him much, but he said he loves the thrill of it and responsibly declined my invite to buy him a drink. Edit: I didn't even consider the shack and parking garage! So now my uneducated guess would be much closer to 1,000 Edited May 25, 20232 yr by GREGinPARMA

So now my uneducated guess would be much closer to 1,000 I don't think it's anywhere near 1,000. You've got iron workers, glazers, a couple crane operators, some iron workers, some laborers, concrete workers and probably some MEP guys on site now. I would say there may be 1,000 workers who will have worked on this job, but not there now. It's probably around 75 to 90 workers there now. When they start finishing drywall, painting, installing flooring and other finishes, that's when you'll see the most people. That'll probably start around the first of the year based on where they are and when they plan on being done. Edited May 26, 20232 yr by Mov2Ohio
May 26, 20232 yr If you missed @js_bsg’s post on the Welleon project in the Detroit-Shoreway thread the other day, you missed some great pics of the rooftop pool’s view - including a nice perspective of the SW Tower rising in the skyline Edited May 26, 20232 yr by CleveFan

May 26, 20232 yr Damn what a missed opportunity it is to not have a public space with some greenery on the roof of that shack. Really sucks to think about. At least we will have Fahrenheit next door.
May 26, 20232 yr Didn’t get a photo but looks to be about five tower crane sections on the north side of the building. clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram

May 27, 20232 yr Doing a staycation this weekend with the hubby. Convinced him to walk all around the SW site after dinner. Progress for sure! Not only glass, but some stone (?) facade going up on the podium part (that I don't seem to see as often on here).
May 27, 20232 yr Wow, that 2nd photo! @Paul in Cleveland What a beauty … I’m getting a little “Philly” vibe the way the new tower looks at the end of the avenue. Loving watching this thing grow up!
May 27, 20232 yr And thank you @Paul in Clevelandfor the photo verifying there are eight new sections of the tower crane waiting to be hoisted up 🙂 clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram

May 27, 20232 yr The view from the Lakefront Bikeway really shows what a big gap this is filling! Plus a view showing the Scranton developments, this one, and City Club all together. Lots of great stuff going on right now!
May 28, 20232 yr 2/25/23 left - showing the previous crane jump in progress and the concrete core just below Rockefeller Today 5/27/23 right - showing the result of the recent crane jump and steel just above Rockefeller and just below 55 public square

May 30, 20232 yr God there just is no traffic on our streets downtown. Tell me again why we need parking lots?
May 30, 20232 yr God there just is no traffic on our streets downtown. Tell me again why we need parking lots? They park down there my biggest worry is why we can't get them out of the office or get residents out of their homes to walk around. 65,000-70,000 people plus tourists still should equal decent foot traffic. Keep in mind the Euclid Avenue photos were taken right by CSU and with classes out, there’s a big chunk of your foot and vehicle traffic. Not saying traffic isn’t down but it depends on the area and what uses are the focus. My photos from the Goodtime were taken Saturday and with a reggae festival at Voinovich Park, the northern end of Ninth Street was hopping. Anecdotally foot traffic at lunchtime is noticeably on the upswing. clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
May 30, 20232 yr Guys. I work downtown. There's plenty of foot traffic. It ebbs and flows depending on the time. I get it's not like 1900s foot traffic but sheesh. I've been in downtown Chicago walking around with light foot traffic before. It just depends on time of day.

According to a recent article posted by @mrnyc, I guess we are lucky we are not San Francisco.
May 31, 20232 yr Stop! It looks like a ghost town and there never seems to be more than three cars on the street. I'm very surprised for 20k living in the downtown area. Edited May 31, 20232 yr by newyorker
May 31, 20232 yr I'm a stay-at-home dad of two littles, and I try to take my kids downtown on the train every week or two to romp around Tower City and Public Square. I've actually been pleasantly surprised by the (perceived) growth in foot traffic this spring. Here's from our most recent visit last week (complete with S/W Tower view to keep somewhat on topic).
