Another note on this - it's hard to see the steel frame from the pic but it's obviously so much wider than the core.  Will really take up a lot of space.  

Was that a crane jump in progress in @nokoeeee 's picture above?

Yes, you can see the next crane mast section hanging from the jib.

Great pics. Where do we estimate the final heights. A few crane sections down from the top?

Is that the final crane jump? Seemed slightly lower than I thought but it could just be perspective.

 

Actually looking at the pics above it does appear final height is about that so makes sense. Idk just seemed short driving by it today. Looking forward to it topping out in a few months at this rate!!

Looks to me like it may need to jump one more time. The core is up to about 27 stories.   So there’s at least 9 more to go, plus the height of the slanted parts on top.

Is the current crane height roughly equal to final height of the tower?

7-23-23 Update. Core has hit 400' and crane jump puts the crane structure around final height. Will probably need to do one more jump to clear final height for construction.

Is this where the core shrinks again? Seems to be around there where I remember seeing it.

It should any floor now... early renderings and models of the building showed it shrinking around floor 24 and the core is at floor 27 now. 

Will be imposing from the “Fox 8” perspective. 

Not as imposing as Stefani Schaefer’s shoulders! 😳

At 400 ft it is currently the 11th tallest building in the city passing the Lumen and knocking at the door of the PNC Center.

Traveling EB over the Shoreway bridge and seeing that the construction crane is the approximate height of what the SHW HQ will be really put into perspective of how big this tower is going to be. From that bridge, it's going to look as tall as Terminal Tower and bigger than 200 Public Square.

Going off their pace of floors I'd estimate late November/early December.

Stupid question but does the core shrink as it goes higher because the number of elevators needing to reach that level drops in number?

just speculating, but from my time in new york, many tall buildings had elevators that only went to certain floors to be more efficient. so you had one group go from floors 1-20, then another group only went to 21-40, and another 41-60 or whatever. I imagine that is the same here. They'll have one or two go to the first third of floors, others to the middle, and one or two to the top third only. 

 

Imagine how long you'd have to wait to get to the ground floor at 5pm when everyone is leaving and you're on the 27th floor with the elevator stopping 10 or 12 times on the way down lol. This avoids it. 

 

I will say, if you want to see how bad it is when you don't do this just go to the Lumen where they only have 3 elevators for the whole building. Every time I went to visit a friend there it took 5-10 minutes for an elevator to finally get to the ground to go back up. 

Okay, so one cool effect that the shack has. The step back really frames Hotel Cleveland. I think it’ll have quite an effect of making the Hotel feel like it’s more a part of Public Square. You’ll walk out to a park like setting. Granted, it’s across 15 lane wide Superior.

That's exactly how Key Tower works. When I was there they had I believe 6 elevators in each area with a total of 3 areas. Each area of elevators only went to select floors.

Thanks @MayDay for the photographs.  I particularly enjoy the view from The Soldiers and Sailors Monument.  But I am also concerned on how many trees have died or are dying around the splash fountain. The City's arborist should investigate.

New high rises have a keypad and screen. You  punch in your desired floor number and the screen displays the elevator number that will stop for you. Certain elevators will cover various floor groupings and do not stop at every floor.

From the Flats West Bank, Sherwin Williams Tower will look almost as tall as Key Tower if the current height of the crane roughly approximates the final building height.

This may have already been asked, but has there been any clear specification of what the cut-ins on the opposite corners (northwest and southeast) of the 14th and 15th floors relate to? I've seen them in the renderings, and they are apparent in the framing, but it's not clear what purpose they serve other than artistic detail.

@JeTDoGThis may help to understand the tower terrace's relationship to surrounding buildings of Public Square

My guess is some sort of break area. Maybe some tables and chairs out there for workers to meet, have coffee, or do I dare say.... a cigarette? 🤯

My favorite and the most underrated view is the Shoreway Bridge headed east. Such a dense angle with different styles and eras of architecture all clustered together. Makes me wish the shoreway bridge had sidewalks/biking paths like the Lorain Carnegie bridge.

That view might look a little better if it was from a slightly higher vantage point.

National media outlets only know 2 shots. This angle and The "Long Live Rock" sign at the Rock Hall. They throw in an aerial shot of the Rock Hall for a little razzle dazzle. It's annoying lol.
