Does anyone know what is covering the windows on the lower floors?  It looks like it is on the inside.  Is this some kind of protection for the windows while interior build out is happening?

@deanhorn, I think we are seeing the immediate surrounding buildings (55 PS and Hotel Cleveland) reflected in the glass. This manifests itself as a greenish color. If you look at some of the earlier posts from @MayDayand others from different angles on a sunny day, the reflective glass is bright and very attractive.

@ArtMasterCLE

Thanks for the explanation.  I can see the reflections now.   It just looked strange to be a lighter greenish color.

Nice to see the core cut in again! Is this the last time it narrows or do we have one more to go?

It's the last time I believe

Do we think they are still on this timeline? Topping out the core by what looks like fall and steel topping out by end of year?

Moderators, what would be the correct thread to ask about the deplorable condition of the midrise building on the left and how it can be allowed to exist in that condition?

And since I voiced a "complaint" above - may I just comment (and again, sorry if I'm only tangential ) that @MayDay's shot below) captures a very beautiful city.

Yes, you are correct.

The lighter color is from the coverings they have on the interior. Just temporary.

Love how it fills in that skyline gap. Makes Cleveland look a little more big city from the Flats.

So great to see - the core now (and steel shortly) eclipsing the Justice Center and Courthouse Tower - HuGE difference for the Cleveland skyline as this gets completed.  (And the water looks pretty chic too!)

Destination Cleveland should really be working to get this building along with City Club into shots for national broadcast as the browns season approaches. Just like the whole google earth thing, what people are shown is outdated so they have an old mindset on Cleveland.

I’m looking forward to the skyline shots of the city this fall on nationally broadcast Browns games - especially later in the season as we clinch our playoff spot - and that new tower starts to reach its peak.

In Mayday's last picture, you can see that they are working on the glass on the southeast side of the 14th floor which is where the balcony is going to be.  The glass is behind the steel columns there.

Does anyone know if the core is going up to the 36th floor (highest inhabitable floor) or the 38th floor (highest mechanical floor)?

Just guessing but from my experience, anything like mechanical floors above the usual habitable are accessed by stairs. For example, the interior of the pyramidal crown of Key Tower is composed of six mechanical floors.

This is my favorite angle to date of SHW. It gives a big city feel with the four large towers in a row plus the fed building.

Yes, it fills the gap nicely.

Drove into the city today and couldn't believe how drastic the skyline looks from just a couple weeks ago. I'm estimating 7 more core floors to be poured, and they finished two since last update of mine 9 days ago.

I guess while I'm at it... Thanks for the great shot @MayDay

What's cool is the angle from the Shoreway will make SHW look like the 3rd-tallest. Right now, the crane marks the approximate height of the tower at full build-out. So from this view, it will even give the Terminal Tower a run for its money even though it's actually 90 feet shorter.

Best thing Philly ever did was ditch the William Penn height limit.

ooh kewl i see a world class signage sw banner up there on the core — 😎

I’d imagine Washington DC would see the same type of explosion if they ditched their limit.

Nice pictures of an emerging downtown Cleveland. But one familiar characteristic of most post-pandemic cities downtowns is, where are the people?

I'm OK with Washington being limited.   Just go across the river to Arlington if you want to see tall towers.

More construction projects that require cranes? If so, yes. But may depend on TMUDs and/or New Market tax credits.
