Photo capture of a cool video on LinkedIn (doesn’t seem like I can post a direct link)

I know the new HQ isn’t set up to do this kind of display, but maybe a little insight into how they’re planning to present the brand to the world and maybe use the external lighting.

Nice find for Vegas.  Especially with the new HQ being positioned on Public Square … basically the perfect place to have over-the-top lighting and color…

Amazing what a big city vibe SW contributes to the skyline, and the signature roofline is still not completed.

The traffic adds a lot, too!  Now if we could just get a 500-600’ new Justice Center Tower (standing vertically Geowizical!)

This pic illustrates quite  a gap that would be created by demolishing the current JC.

@JBis that you, Bickerstaff? 😄

I wish they went taller with the SW tower. It just doesn't look like it matches the scale of the other three buildings from a distance.

^They probably also wish they went taller. LOL.

Hopefully they "go taller" with SW2.  Meaning, instead of 300" - 500'.

A cool new perspective by JonesDrones - the view to SW from the Hilton. Someone had said the other day that SW should’ve been taller and didn’t match the stature of the other big 4 - but this pic presents otherwise Big city look!

^ now thats the committment we love — posting when you are on your battery redline — 🎉👍

SW basically used the Hilton hotel design. Too bad because it was a missed opportunity to make something truly original.

Giving the parade's big city vibes a more Superior feel.

i watched some of the cle parade online and was charmed and reminded what a great mix it is and what fun for all. i went to the nyc parade last year and was reminded what an uptight bore it is. 😂👍🍀

I wish we had this level of dense foot traffic downtown everyday :(

We have a crew delivering a switchgear to the tower next week. Monday, as of now, so I'm going to try to tag along and get into the building with them.

Quick story I was told yesterday: the aforementioned crew was there yesterday examining the layout of the vault room it's going in and planning everything out etc.

On two separate occasions a couple workers were threatened to be fired by "Sherwin Williams people". One instance was because a couple guys were carrying around orange, five gallon Home Depot buckets. The other was because a worker noticed a divot in the ground so he grabbed some spray paint and marked it off/drew a circle around it.

I'm paraphrasing but it basically went like "If you want to keep your job you'll never bring that on this property again."

I just shook my head. Talk about a bunch of tight ass pricks.

New from JonesDrones - a photo from their IG - Another Hilton-perspective but SW’s presence fills a huge gap we had for too long.

Take this with a grain of salt, but I just had a conversation with a manager who has been in constant contact with the supervisor in charge of the underground utilities of this site. I don't know when, but apparently they are getting ready to start underground utilities work for the second tower. They want that tower to have its own transforming power instead of running it off of the main one. The bad news is that the guy said the second tower is 12 stories tall.

Hope he is wrong, just what I was told.

They should have just added 12 stories to HQ1.

12 floors would likely come close to matching Rockefeller height.

Is that 12 stories on top of a pedestal parking garage?  I know you probably don't know, but it makes one  wonder.

Not a clue. If that's the case, hopefully it's a 22 story parking garage lol

If SHW needs another building for their affiliated businesses, I wonder if this site would be a possibility and how tall would they be able to build?

image.png.3e8f6a1246a3557dfcc06cadaaab970c.png

Looking at their previous massings for HQ2 it looks to be about 18 stories tall and a bit taller than the Rockefeller building. If I were to bet, I'd probably bet on something about the size of the initial "tentative" massing.

To my knowledge, no internal planning has begun for the second tower.

It looks to me as fast as SW is expanding it"s work force, that by the time they finish their tower they might hire more workers. So you wouls think that a larger building would be waranted by that time. we"ll just have to see what developes.

Ah yes, in these difficult times at least we have Sherwin Williams pics lol.

@BoomerangCleRes Was that photo taken from The Edison? If so, that's a pretty good zoom shot.

Yes behind the edition on the lakefront bike path, and thanks iPhones really improved

Juxtaposition

Wasn't able to make it down with the crew today but I just spoke to them. The project manager down there that they have been dealing with said he has heard the rumors of a second tower but nothing is set as of yet. Which, to me, is much better news than that 12-story rumor I relayed last week.

Also, the guy told them that the restaurants and hotel are definitely planned. Apparently the hotel will be 20+ stories but my buddy never asked what brand it was going to be.

love a good worksite rumor mill. thanks for the updates

We could use a nice 50 story Econo Lodge downtown, jussayin.

So is the 20+ story hotel planned for on the SHW block or that little triangle just to the south? That triangle seems small for a 20+ story hotel. At any rate highrise construction appears to be lagging now so this will give us something to speculate on.

This is the best I could get while waiting for the light at MLK and Larchmere.

Sherwin-Williams HQ delayed into 2025

By Ken Prendergast / March 27, 2024

Sherwin-Williams’ headquarters construction management team had hoped to enclose its new 616-foot-tall office tower in Downtown Cleveland by spring. But with April right around the corner, the building has not yet reached that milestone. While delays are happening to a lot of building projects due to supply constraints, Sherwin-Williams has made sure its employees won’t be left out in the cold.
