August 20, 2024Aug 20 I wish the first section of the side of the parking structure were finished with the glass facade. It would help disguise the parking structure and give a little more weight to the facade. Edited August 22, 2024Aug 22 by dave2017

August 24, 2024Aug 24 Went to a concert last night at Jacobs Pavillion for the first time since the tower broke ground. A beautiful night and the tower and skyline, with the river and lite up Detroit-Superior bridge framing it all made for a really impressive view from that vantage point. I know many in the crowd were from out of town and it had to leave a great impression of the city. I know my buddy was impressed and made mention. Also, he is from Denver but lived in Cleveland for about ten years during the nineties. He was never one to hold back with subtle negative comments about Cleveland while living her and afterwards. But during his last two visits, tooling around all over town, I was shocked at his comments about how clean downtown seemed compared to Denver, and he was impressed by all the new development since his time here. Keep saying what's that, and that seems new. Heinens in the 9 blew his mind. I also pointed out to him that four buildings he had offices in during his time here had been completely renovated. He use to have an office in Schofield and the predecessor to Euclid Grand and he just could not believe what they did with the buildings.

August 24, 2024Aug 24 Looking up at a city (via flats view) versus down on a city (Innerbelt/Tremont view) gives a much bigger feel to a skyline. Whenever i drive through a city, and the highway grade sits lower then the CBD, the skyline is much more imposing on the landscape. IMO.
August 25, 2024Aug 25 The placement of the SHW building on Superior causes an issue where it blocks either 200 PS or sometimes Key Tower (most of it). It's unfortunate honestly, like the angle from Irishtown bend show it blocking one of the two aforementioned buildings.
August 25, 2024Aug 25 Oh well. That's going to happen when new towers are built. I would have preferred it being taller and a bit more slender. I doubt SHW was concerned about what other buildings would be blocked from view.
August 30, 2024Aug 30 great pix — can’t wait to see the lighting. also — any phase two tower news or evrn rumors??

September 2, 2024Sep 2 Though it’s the fourth tallest downtown, it can still be obscured at a close distance as well. Took this shot last night.
September 2, 2024Sep 2 ^Pfft - tell the bottle serviced table at the corner to scoot over for a hot second and get the "canyon" photo down Euclid 😆 clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
September 3, 2024Sep 3 Does anyone know if the construction schedule for completion remains on time? The "shack" looks far from completion.
September 3, 2024Sep 3 Is that scaffolding in the building indentations around the 15th floor? What are they doing in there?

It was originally supposed to open end of this year, I think a few months back it got pushed to Q1 2025. I think some date in April is the move in.
September 3, 2024Sep 3 I took some pictures from Upper Edgewater and posted them on IG. Here is how the building shines throughout the day.

I think some date in April is the move in. I don't think any "official" move date has been announced since it will be done in phases. But you're right, the original date when the move in was suppose to start was Q4 2024. That obviously isn't happening. Then I heard it was moved to Q1 2025 and and now the scuttlebut is mid-late Q2 2025. The parking agreement with Tower City runs until June 2025, unless it gets extended again.
September 3, 2024Sep 3 I work for SW and was told we'd be given a 6 month heads up before the move. Haven't gotten notice yet, so at a minimum it will be March.

September 4, 2024Sep 4 Nice to see they are including the long term paint panel weathering test rigs up on the roof! The execs can just peer down with a set of binoculars to see how they are holding up. https://www.paint.org/coatingstech-magazine/paint-test-panels_adobestock_291277240_credit-ahavelaar/

I wish they would do a tree lined median/pedestrian island on this stretch of Superior. It’s like 9 lanes wide. Is the Midway project part of this stretch?

Crazy thing is we've lost a lane going west (during construction) and whaddyaknow...traffic hasn't changed much, if at all.

Someone recently commented that it seems no one is in charge of ensuring the city looks good - those planters are the poster child for this. Shameful.
September 5, 2024Sep 5 Im about the blow up the new city 311 line about making some landscaping changes.

September 5, 2024Sep 5 I am very hopeful that this stretch gets the attention it deserves soon. It really makes sense. Once the Midway is complete, it really makes no sense that this 3 block section or Superior is the only part of an otherwise complete bike and ped friendly stretch of road between E 55th and Gordon Sq/Lake Ave. It will become glaringly obvious an upgrade is needed once the Midway is complete
