October 28, 2024Oct 28 Has anyone seen if or know if the glass has protective film so birds know of the danger? Love the glass but worry about the dangers
October 28, 2024Oct 28 Saw from a video post on Instagram that it looks like the east facing signage is complete.

October 28, 2024Oct 28 Nearly 11,000 replies in and still not a single photo of a finished "Sherwin Williams" sign from Public Square 👀 Just kidding, y'all. But whoever posts it should officially claim the first photo of the completed daytime view of the building :) the shack doesn't count.
October 29, 2024Oct 29 Didn't get a picture of it, but coming from the east side, all the letters were lit up this AM around 7.
October 29, 2024Oct 29 Author Around the same time this morning I saw the letters on the west side of the building lit up, seen from my kitchen window in Lakewood. "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck

October 31, 2024Oct 31 Does anyone know if the white crane on the top of the tower will remain permanently there. Is it part of the window cleaning system and does it tuck into the angled facades when not used? Or is it just for construction?
October 31, 2024Oct 31 What area would fill the gap between Key Tower and 200 P.S? Is it the Nucleus Site?
October 31, 2024Oct 31 A tower on the nuCLEus site would certainly fill the gap between the towers on Public Square and the towers along E 9th and beyond. That is why I'm hoping it will be the next site to be developed. Perhaps it will be the skyline changing project we are waiting for. 😉 Edited October 31, 2024Oct 31 by LibertyBlvd

Many tall towers have small cranes permanently on top to, like you said, allow window cleaning and maintenance easier. I'm sure they're just keeping it set up since they are using it often during construction.

This building has turned out to be much better than the renderings which, obviously, couldn't capture the different ''looks'' the S-W tower provides in the course of 24-hours. These shots are the best with the contrast of darkened windows and ''white'' framing and we still get the reflecting neighboring buildings. Some pics makes the tower look ''smaller'' while others, like these, shows how big and tall (616' is no slouch after all) the S-W actually is.

November 12, 2024Nov 12 It would be nice if 668 could do something to improve the appearance from the side, maybe add some kind of roof screen.
November 12, 2024Nov 12 ^Or they could just remove it completely; it’s always been strange to look at. If there was never a floor there to begin with, why add a facade like there actually was one in the past which was demolished? Somebody probably remembers this… but why was this added to begin with? I don’t recall. But getting back to SHW, I can’t wait for the lighting! I’m guessing it has to be soon… maybe to coincide with the holiday lighting? That’d be sweet.

I hope it gets inspected regularly as it seems one of our summer strong storms or tornados could destabilize that faux wall as happened with the Fairmount this summer.

It gives you a sense of how tall the tower really is and fills a gap as many have discussed in previous posts. And the tower looks much better with most of the protective panels taken down from the windows. I hope that window shades once they are installed do not create the same look as before.

I doubt the progress on the pavilion has any bearing on the tower's timeline. I was actually surprised with the fact the logo was already installed, so I'm hoping the vertical lighting is too far behind that. Looking into the building last night I was surprised with how many offices seemed to be done.

And I'm a little surprised the logos were lit for a day or two but have since gone dark. Probably just a testing period
