Posted October 8, 200717 yr I had some hope the revival of Brown Street near UD would have led to the remodeling of some of the old 19th century commercial buildings on Brown closer to the Brown/Warren/Wyoming intersection. Alas that is not to be as one of the last blocks of those buildings has just been torn down, which leads to this pix w. comments thread on the ongoing destruction of Brown and Warren Streets and the near total obliteration of the Brown/Wyoming business corner. The study area What’s happened since 1980…& a lot of it has happened since 1988. A suburban style Taco Bell is across the street and parking on the other two corners …it’s all good.
October 8, 200717 yr More greenspace = less CO2! Er... That sucks completely. And the hospital parking issue is one that creeps up everywhere. KDMC here in Ashland, KY has eaten up at least four city blocks just for surface lots alone before building a new freestanding garage... Entire vibrant neighborhoods GONE in just a decade.
October 8, 200717 yr Oops, forgot to add the demo pix. This site is just beyond the blue-painted frame building in the first pix. I am not sure if its the hospital or UD involved or what they will put there.

October 10, 200717 yr My favorite bar when I went to UD & it was still Walnut Hills. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but there was always a lot going on inside. Is it being torn down? <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v240/Jeff59c/Lower%20South%20Park/Destruction%20of%20Warren/WarrenSt3.jpg">
August 10, 200816 yr My grandparents lived on Obell Ct. at Wyoming and Brown behind that middle school (?). It's sad to see that there's just not much left there anymore.
