Posted October 8, 200717 yr I also went to the very excellent pre-show at OE, but missed Sohio...a fairly interesting band from Hamilton. The highlight was Lab Partners, who are sounding better to me. Most of the acts where playing venues in the Oregon...crowded night that night: Starting out with this young Cincy band, The Sweep. Jasper Wall Creative Sound Café was the “unplugged” venue. Folksinger Wes Tirey The wall at Jasper Wall: I see a bit of Chagall here. Heading on down the line… I believe this was the Minor Planets from Michigan? Next stop, old reliable OE Cincinnati’s beautiful and talented Fairmont Girls. This band used to get airplay on WOXY. Still good. New band…Melonballer. The Story Changes This place has such an period/70’s interior, plus that second floor “balcony”. This is a new band, Human Reunion, made up of local scene veterans. I only heard a bit of them, but they sounded good. Too crowded. The Sailing, now on the local Squids Eye label My Latex Brain …and the scary Luxury Pushers. I am going to see these guys again later this month Finishing up at the venerable CST with NYC/(Brooklyn?) based Enon, which supposedly has some ex-Dayton folks in it. Capacity crowd, no AC, hot and humid, I was dressed for the ballet, not rock….I just stayed for one song.
