October 11th is National Coming Out Day.

In Dayton,  a new group, Diversity Dayton, held a rally to unveil the first-ever billboard in Dayton on the gay issue ….at the Main/Patterson/Jefferson intersection near downtown.

The crowd, predictably small (high noon on a weekday), and with a lot of straight allies.

Signs and Wonders:

The organizer of Diversity Dayton speaks…don’t recall the name, but he’s a young guy.

The pastor of Cross Creek Community Church (UCC), from down in Centerville.

Joe Lacey of the Dayton School Board

The billboard (with unintentional ironic commentary below)(esp. since Halloween is one of the gay high holy days).

I like Diversity Dayton’s color scheme….blue-white.  Reminds me of Bavaria or the University of Kentucky.

$20 says some bigoted Christian group puts up some retort (probably complete with a quote from Leviticus) where the Land of Illusion is post-Halloween.

Great effort, though. And I guess I lose my gay merit badge - I had no clue it was Coming Out Day.

ok so to celebrate somebody "out" a celebrity.

and don't be lazy and try to say anderson cooper...come on!

MTS!  LOL

Seriously, can we do this.  There are so many NYers on morning news to list.

You are not alone, I didn't know either until I got an email about at work today.

Our corporate office, sent out a "national coming out day" email today at work.  I've been there 18 years and that was a first.

MTS what was that about?  Isn't that your group that sends out inter company communications?

Not to change the subject, but I love driving in the Middletown area and seeing all these "Land of Illusion" signs pointing toward the city.

Warning everyone to be afraid...very afraid. LOL  sux.

That's interesting that your work would send out that e-mail.  Sounds like a very progressive company.

Lets not go congratulating Time Warner for one positive thing.

Funny that Middletown billboard at the bottom.

"You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers

Could you be talking about a certain Fox5 weatherman??

FHTH, Partially correct about some of the CONFIDENTIAL and proprietary information you posted, please remove that.  I cannot speak on this.

The emails are sent out as a part of the Diversity and Inclusion initiative and in conjunction with the company wide network groups.  In order to retain and attract employees we need to make sure that management at all levels is aware of and in touch with the diverse make up of our company.

That is a nice attitude for an executive. We've never missed a payment. Regardless, we coincidentally cancelled both Road Runner and TW digital cable earlier this week; now I don't regret it.

LOL.  Oh come on.  Don't be like that.  Beep Beep!

I'm sure we will sign back up at some point; disconnecting and reconnecting is our last alternative to get the wireless fixed.

Cincinnati is suing time warner for not paying US. ;)

I thought the Land of Illusion was at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC :?

There must be two.
