Great News!

Money Game!

Both teams are such storied teams.

YSU's love Tressel now coaches the Bucks.

Will have a link tomorrow when one is available!

Why would the Buckeyes want to ruin their schedule by playing a I-AA team?

there goes their computer ranking!

DEERRRRRRRRRRRR.

Shows how much you all know.

1. THE COMPUTER STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE IS OUT OF TOWN.

2. OF THE 8 BCS Teams last year 5 of which played I-AA Teams.

Most I-A Schools play I-AA Schools.

Now with the 12 game schedule in 06. Tressel thought; an easy win which will give them some good practice since YSU is like the MAC.

Well, personally I wasn't talking about the computers...I was just trashing the idea of my Buckeyes playing a I-AA school.

i heard maurice clarett decided to play for youngstown state now, and also rejoined the buckeyes. he'll play for both teams in the game...

um no...

if that was supposed to be funny. I dont see what is funny

^yeah, my joke was terrible. but that happens sometimes.

GO BUCKS!

You are just myopic aren't you.

LOL, I never even heard of Youngstown State.  I am serious.  Although I never heard of Ohio University and Cleveland State before moving here.

under tressel, YSU was one of the premier D1-AA teams in the nation

oh suurrre. now that is the real joke!

Actully you new yorker he said that in an article.

and at the NEOFootball Banquet in CLEVELAND last night tressel and heacock were there and tressel can't wait he said

he is excited

And Tressel said he was excited when Maurice Clarrett committed to Ohio State in 2001.

So the Penguins get to come to the capital and be seen on state-wide TV (I don't see ABC or ESPN picking the game up).  Big whoop.

From the 8/5/06 Youngstown Vindicator:

YSU vs. Ohio ST. Schedules set

Youngstown State will play Ohio State in the opening game of the 2007 and 2008 football seasons, according to schedules released by Ohio State Friday. The Penguins will visit the Horseshoe in Columbus Sept. 1, 2007, and Aug. 30, 2008.

Maybe OSU will play St. Ignatius too!!    I attended Kent for a while before playing at Akron..both schools I root for, OSU would kill either team....and let's be serious....YSU is no match.  This is only a "spoiler" type game...not a good non-conference match up for OSU to put on the schedule IMO.  Even when I was at Akron, the guys on paper looked ALMOST as big, but being there, you realize that the guys at OSU are just a little stronger, faster, and more skilled as a whole....and that makes all the difference in the world when it comes to football.  As awesome as Mt. Union is year after year, they couldn't hold the jocks for BGSU or Toledo, let alone a team like OSU.  Yes, YSU is a bigger school than Mount, but it is what it is....this will be a great opportunity for YSU though.  Will be interesting to see.

You come out and say you'd root for Akron and Kent over Ohio State.... but you FAIL to realize YSU has an overall record over .500 vs. Kent and Akron---which usually means they are better.

YSU has a better shot than Kent or Akron to beat OSU; but lets be realistic it won't happen!

What will happen is the YSU game in 2007 will be the most competitive of the 3 for Ohio State... and you can mark my words on that.

Akron and Kent are whimps for not playing YSU and for voting Buffalo in over YSU back in the 90s to join the MAC.... Whimps!

I would NEVER root for Akron or Kent over my beloved Buckeyes!!!  You misunderstood what I was saying.  As for the MAC..it has gotten way tougher from when I was there...they have been the spoilers for a few MAC/Big Ten matchups.  As for Buffalo...I thought that decision sucked as well.

I'm quite angry that my Penn State Nittany Lions are wasting a game on their schedule versus Youngstown State!  Isn't YSU playing Pitt this year as well?

^ Pitt's not that bad.  At least they're usually competitive.

That's a logical stretch.  Because Team A beats Team B doesn't mean that Team A will do better against Team C than Team B would.

^ sounds like fuzzy math to me!  lol

OSU 79, YSU 0

YSU-0?  Do you really think they will score THAT many points?

I think the Penguins will get a negative field goal late in the 4th quarter:

YSU  -3

OSU  48

Seriously, though, OSU isn't the kind of team that blows folks out 65-0.  A good ass-kickin' by them is generally something like 41-7.  I don't think the Bucks will crack 50.

yeah, just look at saturday's game, after the first three series tressel basically said, "alright, its not fair, they can't cover ginn downfield, so lets just play some woody hayes run run pass football."

osu playing smaller league teams is just bad news. its sinking to traditional oklahoma scheduling lows with those teams on the schedule. i'll cut ysu a break because it is a storied ohio team, but osu should never do it again.

Actully you new yorker he said that in an article.

well then tressel must have forgotten the bgsu game where he was down in the 2nd qtr and it was anybodys game until the 4th qtr....when of course the extreme depth of osu caught up with a mac team and crushed it. so ysu will have to do better than that example to impress me:
