^It’s not replacing the parking lot (in front of the Archer). It’ll occupy the space directly between the sidewalk and parking lot.

Currently there’s truly no park in this vicinity, so Lighthouse Park (while a small  urban “pocket park”) will offer a nice new little neighborhood gathering spot. It’ll be great to have amenities like benches, swings, cool lighting, landscaping, and a dog area right here. Can’t wait!

Sherwin Williams should take a look at Lighthouse Park and how this concept could be incorporated into their remaining surface parking lots until they are redeveloped

Very creative use of the site, and will be an appreciated amenity for the neighborhood I predict!

But golly, I’m surprised that the latest downtown residential building boom didn’t revitalize the plans for that surface lot that were killed at the 11th hour by the [last] recession 🙄

What was planned for that site prior to the last recession?

I recalled a large apartment building proposed by Marous but I believe it was proposed for the surface lot on the same side of the street just south of here, not this particular lot

It was actually the next lot over. Between the Archer and Bingham. District Park.

Never throw anything away

oh, that would be nice.

Great prices too!

1-beds starting at $170,000? That can't be right.

Some world-class signage right there if I’ve ever seen any!

Any chance this lot is developed in the future?

There's always a chance. But I haven't heard of any developer looking at it for a long time.

and did they have enough light on that sign? not sure. 🤔

A big stumbling block back then was the cost of clearing the foundation of the former building. It was essentially collapsed within itself and covered with dirt. The back side remnants of the original building is still visible from West 10th.

World class signage needs to be well illuminated.

Luna Bakery & Café plans expansion to downtown Cleveland

Published: Jun. 23, 2022, 6:00 a.m.

CLEVELAND, Ohio – It’s been a week to look both back and forward for Bridget Thibeault, owner of Luna Bakery & Café.

Target opening date at 1468 West 9th Street – the Western Reserve Building - is by the end of the year, though that is contingent on approval of drawings and equipment.

I feel like this project has been forgotten about / overlooked…Work is continuing along at the Liberty Textiles Building renovation on W 6th!

Is it actually continuing?  Seems like they kind of stopped for a long time?

From what I can tell, it seems like there’s been more done lately. Definitely moving slowly but there appears to be more activity lately within the last few months.

Since it is a Kassouf project I just thought it never started in the first place.

I feel like more murals and street art has been popping up lately and I'm a huge fan of it. Really adds some color to streets and deters graffiti

wow i f*cking love this. not loud, nice and simple but bold.

Agave & Rye in the old Bar Louie/Metropolitan space looks about ready to open, and it looks super cool.

^They're aiming for soft opening the week of the 22nd - they'll have some new signage and awnings going up sometime soon as well. Can't wait! They've really given a total overhaul/refresh of the space and it's awesome. This will be great for that corner and the neighborhood as a whole.

I suspect it’ll be a very popular spot.

We can all agree this definitely ranks as world class signage! Place is still covered up, but they have to be close to opening if they already put up the sign.

Kassouf’s project looks to have started up again.

I wasn't aware that it had stopped, although not surprised.  Any idea how long it had remained stalled.  It is not that big of a project.  I thought it would be done by now.

I would say work had been stopped for well over a year.

Not sure where to post this...but, work was being done on the building behind Little Johnnys before the game yesterday. The interior was framed.

Historically, it's been an awful strip club/night club with a rough crowd. They have a permit pending but it's waiting for Landmarks review so I'm going to assume whatever work being done is illegal.

^ Nice find. I wonder what that is going to be? According to my research, it used to be a strip-club.

My hovercraft is full of eels

That's a very old industrial building. I understand that long before it's days as a series of nightclubs, 620 Frankfort Ave was a repair garage for streetcars, and the ceilings are still hung with heavy gauged rails.  Ostensibly the rails on the ceiling suspended streetcars while undercarriage work was performed. The last time I was inside was back in the 1990s, when it was a gay dance club called "Numbers."   The interior space is much cooler than it's austere exterior and it had a hip urban loft vibe.

That place was amazing in the late 80's early 90's!

Comparing the new and old facades, ol' girl got quite the face-lift I do say.
