November 11, 200717 yr Last year I frequented the Glencoe to take pictures. I was there maybe every week for a period of a couple months. They're being restored, but they are pretty fun to explore and photograph.

November 12, 200717 yr That and the shot of the various OTR churches were taken from the top deck of a parking garage on 9th St. Those dusk photos from Mulberry St. were taken with a tripod, you take two shots at a two or three f/stop difference and then add the darker sky onto the lighter shot of the buildings in Photoshop. In the past you could only do that with a graduated filter or in the dark room you could burn the sky in a bit but it was a lot more time-consuming.

November 12, 200717 yr Great new angles for me. For me I find Kroger to be a wonderful building. I love how it is out of context with its neighborhood and separate form most of the skyline. It also seems to change color depending on the sky conditions. Sometime it looks silver and at others white.
