Posted November 13, 200717 yr Georgetown really surprised me. Ornate buildings, Grant's boyhood home, well-kept courthouse, Carnegie library ripoff... It may look like a Carnegie, but its not.
November 13, 200717 yr Georgetown is quite a gem; excellent pics. I was there briefly several years ago, and didn't have a chance to explore or take pics. The area also hosts one of the best antique farm machinery shows in Ohio, with lots of demonstrations of historic technology and practices.

November 15, 200717 yr This Georgetown (there are like four in Ohio. This is easily the most prominent as it's a county seat and has The Land of Grant tour running through it) is a pretty neat town. The Grant sites are interesting, but parking is an issue, especially for the school house. Agriculture very much rules the area.
November 15, 200717 yr I loved the town. But this great hole seen here disturbed me I think I remember someone in the courthouse telling me that there was a fire some years ago.
November 16, 200717 yr I loved the town. But this great hole seen here disturbed me I think I remember someone in the courthouse telling me that there was a fire some years ago. Yep... I live in St. Martin, Brown County's northern most pretty much non-existant village. There was a pretty bad fire a couple years back that devistated that entire block. For some reason I have never liked Georgetown that much. It is so far away from the northern panhandle. It's a wonder that the panhandle isn't part of Clermont, Highland or Clinton Counties. It takes less time to get to Batavia, Hillsboro and Wilmington from my house than it does to get to my OWN county seat. It is very annoying. What is the possibility of redrawing those county lines? Like that?
