Hillsboro may have the reputation of being some hick town in the middle of nowhere, but it does have some great buildings! The historic Bell Opera House was listed on Preservation Ohio's Most Endangered Sites 2007 list, not because it is endangered, but because it requires significant support and funding to be restored.

Not bad! 'Nother quaint Ohio town with lots of great brick buildings.

I really loved driving through the city on my last trip to Cinci. Great town with a lot of potential.

^ YUCK.

It looks a little ... worn.  But nice set.

Worn is a good way to descibe Hillsboro...and many of Ohio's rural county seats.

Not my favorite, but still very interesting.

I kind of like Hillsboro.  Great shots, ink.

It looks like a great town.

Hillsboro has the oldest courthouse in Ohio, I think?  There is a handfull of great older homes, antebellum I think, just east of downtown.  And its the apparent age of some of these Hillboro downtown things that impresses me, too.

Hillsboro had a growth spurt on the north side of town a few years back. Nothing much has happened since then though. I often wish either Hillsboro or Portsmouth (Scioto County) would work on their downtowns a little but I won't hold my breath for anything to happen anytime soon.

:-o  Wow is that different.  Looks like someone was trying a little bit too hard with the shingles.

I like the forgotten look of the rest of the town.

This row is as good as any I've seen.  Nice scale, humble and well maintained.  I like it!

As a kid, I always loved Hillsboro and wanted to live there when I grew up. Then I found Wilmington and fell more in love with it.
