Here is a short set of 11 photos I took on or around East Price Hill and North Avondale on November 3, 2007.

North Avondale really has some stunners.

I wonder if the porch on the house in pic 5 is original.

Nice shots. The church in the first pic looks a lot like St. Francis DeSales.

St. Lawrence is incredible!!

I highly recommend checking the inside out one day.    The amount of marble inside is enough to make your head spin.

With the foundation of the house matching so closely to the foundation of the porch, I would have to say so.

I don't know if it's original...I'll ask the owner and get back to you.

I'd say not. The house looks like late 1880s and the porch looks like 1910-1920. They did a better job of matching up the masonry than most people did when adding porches, but the overall design of the porch doesn't match the period of the house.

^ You're pretty much right.  Here's what the homeowner said about the porch:

it's certainly not exactly as it was in 1890.  the original photos i have show a more "gabled" look with some roundness to the shape of the porch and its roof.  i do believe, however, that the original porch wrapped all the way around the front of the house, as it does today.  it was probably originally a wooden porch, while it is now brick and tile.  if i had a scan of the old photos, i could easily show you what i mean.

WESTSIDE!!!

I really need to go explore the West Side.  Other than College Hill and North College Hill, and Northside (if that even counts), I think I've only to been to the West Side maybe 3 times?

I need to check both of those neighborhoods out more.
