Good stuff.

I was in Hyde Park on Black Friday evening; it was no Rookwood, but had a pretty good crowd.

The day after thanksgiving (black friday) was a madhouse on the square. They had the streets blocked off and we had over 300 reservations that night (which is insane). Because Via Vite's terrace is accessible from the square, people were coming up there to see the tree lighting and fireworks. People who reserved rooms upstairs were complaining that the view of the square that they reserved was obstructed due to people standing on the terrace and demanded that the managers move them aside.  We tried to barricade but it didnt stop a city beat photographer from busting through.

Its nice to see the square so busy during the holidays though.

Look at shots #5 and #32, I wish the Belvedere company (owner of Carew Tower) would get around to power washing all those stains under the windows on the base of the tower, very ugly!

Nice shots Rando.  BTW, saw you out in front of Javier's last week I guess.  You were occupied by some young ladies. ;)

Nice shots, man.  Lots of life.

Where are the singing bears in picture 16?

^Showbiz Pizza didn't let them out of their contract this year.

Did You go to Javiers again Randy?  Or did you ditch me that day for these young ladies.  Or, did BallHatGuy mistake me for young ladies?  Whichever way, I am not happy.  :wink:

nice pict randy, btw.  Graeters really needs to put awning along their storefront, really give the square much needed color.

Nice! I love Downtowns during the Holidays. It is just not the same when it's 83 degrees.  :-(

The mounted police are making sure there won't be any drunken holiday revelers skinny-dipping in the fountain!

Neat photos; holiday crowds give any public space a festive feeling.

Where are the singing bears in picture 16?

They have been moved, along with Santa, to a spot inside the actual mall area.  I was also confused and thought they were gone at first.

I'm guessing he was mistaking you for young ladies, because that is the only time I've been to Javier's.  You do have a feminine look of sorts. :wink: :laugh:

I could have sworn you were talking to a bunch of women Rando.  My bad!

hhhmmmm, interesting

Well...I mean aside from my normal entourage of women.  It's easy for me to forget sometimes... :wink2:

Great set, Fountain Square looks very lively.  THE fountain is very nice, and I'm jealous that you guys have a skating rink.  Not feeling THE tree so much though.  It looks a little sorry.

HAHA that kid in pic 5 totally ate it.

Too bad you can't shop at a grocery store the size of Cleveland's!  Or atleast Lima's!

Cincinnati=Tropical

Cleveland=Arctic

Also, mrnyc, Fountain square wins hands down for its location and centerpoint of downtown of Cincinnati. The peace memorial is just another one of 74 Frederick statues across the nation.

^Detroit's is better.

As a semi-frequent traveler between the three C's, it "feels" night and day between the three metros. It could have been a freak weather day,  but the fact that people were wearing hooded sweatshirts and there was leaves still on the trees in late november? It also doesn't help that i live .75 miles from a lake. Add in Cincy's higher frequency of sunny days and why the "tropical" joke.

Either way, back to the pics, looking good Cincy!

Nice pics......at first I thought it was some homeless man or something sleeping on the rink in pic five.....lol.

It is strange how much of a difference their is in weather between Cincinnati and the great lakes area.  I moved to Cincinnati from Erie, PA and it's a world of difference.  The biggest difference is how much longer the spring\summer is in Cincinnati.
