^---In my opinion it should have been. I think Dayton could have offered mad River Twp residents far superior services than they receive now. I used to live there before the merger along with half my family.

After the merger, I got outta Dodge along with most of my family except grandma who can't relocate at her age which brings me to the police experiences that just put the finishing touch on my hatred for Riverside. Let me give ya a hint. 2 break-ins and virtually NO response except "Vote for our police levy next year and we can provide better service" LOL

There's actually a 3rd Riverside incident involving a drunk driver Riverside police didn't respond to either. When we reached Dayton city limits, Dayton police were all over the drunk driver who turned out to have multiple warrants and no license. Way to go Riverside.

I can just go on and on. LOL Once again, back on topic.  :-D

Harrison Township SHOULD be the City of Dayton, not Riverside.

They both should be.

Deal.

Glad we can work this out.

I know this is off topic, but does the City of Dayton have a deal (like Columbus' Win-Win) in which they allow annexed land to remain in its original school distict and not force it to become Dayton Public?  For example, if Dayton had annexed Mad River Twp. would my Alma Mater, Stebbins, have become a Dayton Public School?

^I'm guessing it would be.

Annexation(/city limits) has nothing to do with school boundary lines. If Dayton (or any other city) annexes, the school district has to fight for a land transfer. This is happening right now in Midddletown where the school district is trying to take land from annexed areas within the Franklin school district. Lorain and Amhurst recently fought the same battle as well.

As I understand it, the Columbus agreement is more of a promise not to seek out land transfers as school boundaries don't just change with city corporate boundaries.

I'm not sure how the schools would work, but it wouldn't really matter since Dayton has not annexed land for several years now.  :whip:

Any news on this project/possible collaboration with other (downtown?) developments?

^---Not a thing.

Dare I even say or think it. . . .they are actually going forward with this project...good for them, I wish them the best! I think it would be great if they could actually make it happen

There's a whole presentation of what they would like to do (spacebar through it). . .even a really really rough sketch of where they would put the hotel and it's height in relation to the skyline. . .

The Wing, eh?

From the website: "A giant, indoor, year-round, cutting edge, entertainment/upscale shopping complex.  Where Billy goes to Mars, while mom hangs out at Gucci."

LOL seriously?

Are the proponents tapping into some Dubai oil money?

This hotel has got to be as fictitious as The Bank hotel in Ocean's 13.

This isn't real is it?  If this happens then I say good for Dayton.

This CAN be good if it's successful.. however, a massive, empty, bankrupt structure 10 years later would not be good..

Yup...Cleveland knows a thing or two about empty structures.
