...and that is an understatement.  I attended a show at the Thurber Theatre in the Drake Performance and Event Center today, and I was completely astouded at how horribly ugly that building is.  I am from Cincy, and I am not very familiar with OSU's campus, and I had never been to this area.  We parked just south of the Lincoln and Morrill towers, and made our way over to this concrete building, which at first I thought was some kind of maintenance facility or generating station.  There was no signage indicating the name of the building, Just an "O" in the concrete facade.  The grade level entry feels like you are entering a loading dock, rather than a theater.  The inside was passable 70's contemporary, with large plate glass windows facing the river, but the outside so depressing.  Those two towers are pretty dismal too.

Just my opinion.

OSU's campus is generally boring but I like their law school and the wexner center, a lot. The Olentangy dorms are pretty cool despite them looking like exclusionary public housing (which dorms inherently are).

Drake Center is ugly and so are the towers. However they do look better than Crosley Tower and Daniels Hall on UC's campus. Now those bitches are really ugly!

I had no clue where the Drake Center was until like my Junior year.  I can safely say that most people at OSU do not go to the Drake.

^Cincinnati's Drake Center is much more appropriate for you anyway.

Except for pizza (but even then people would rather have it delivered).

The towers are hideous but people who live in other parts of campus glamorize them (or so I've seen with my fellow freshmen). Not mention the layout is confusing and Jeffrey Dahmer supposedly lived in one of them.

While Crosley Tower is an utter mess...I don't think it is all that ugly.  I think this will be especially true once it is another 20 or so years older.  At that time we can look back on that style of architecture and judge it accordingly.  Either way...I do think it is a major error to design buildings with minimal windows.

i went to the drake a lot when i lived in the dorms because they have a restaurant called the viewpointe or something like that.  anyway, students culinary students worked there and made really good meals and you could use meal swipes.  It was a killer deal.

I certainly wouldnt say that.  OSU has some beautiful buildings and wonderful green spaces.  And who can forget Mirror Lake!  The Oval is something other universities should copy.  It is a civic area in which students flock and hang out and interact, etc.  Its really cool in the spring and summer when you go out there and it is full of people.  Really makes you feel apart of the university community.  I miss it.

I never heard anyone glamorize the towers at osu in my 4 years.  Everyone I talked to did not want to live there because of its isolation from campus and high street.
