Posted December 7, 200717 yr An interesting, historic suburb of Cincinnati, Reading has designated part of its downtown as a bridal district; it seems pretty successful. BTW, as far as the pronouncing Reading, the "Read" is pronounced in the past tense, as in "UncleRando read a book." A fun juxtaposition Would you like a Cincinnati Bride? Or a European? A recent rehab This bridge is apparently a local landmark, but it seems overshadowed by northbound I-75
December 7, 200717 yr I do like Reading, strangely. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
December 7, 200717 yr Ah, the homeland. Well, the homeland before Hamilton and after the fatherland (Germany).
December 7, 200717 yr That concrete bridge is very similar to one on US 27 just south of downtown Portland, Indiana. I don't know the details, but several years ago historic preservation concerns stopped the state from replacing it with a newer, wider structure.
December 7, 200717 yr Your pictures of these old suburbs make them seem much more quaint than they actually are. When driving or walking through the basin of Reading, which is where these shots are taken, it feels very urban to me, and especially urban the closer you get to the bridge and Lockland. Good shots though.
December 8, 200717 yr Here is the building at Church and Benson last year. It is shown above, painted burnt yellow and green. I worked on this project.
December 8, 200717 yr go back and tell them its pronounced reed-ing! nice stock around there. good to see the reno too. i liked the bridge. seems like a fairly well cared for area.
December 12, 200717 yr ink...Congrats on finding Reading's historic CBD. Most people can't. ColDayMan...I love Reading. It has a ton of great old historical buildings and is relatively well-preserved. It's actually one of my favorite suburbs.
