Posted December 9, 200717 yr Went out to do some shopping yesterday and I took a stroll from 59 & Columbus Circle across 59 Street (Central Park South) to Bloomingdales. Started out at Time Warner Center. Boss and Cole Hann had really good sales. The Trump International Hotel and residencies. Hey Derek, call me, I know you want to. Dooooh….fell of the curb trying to get a pic of the World Sculpture Looking down Eight Avenue, in the background you can see the NEW New York Times Headquarters on 41 Street The Maine Monument Heading East down Central Park South Looking down Seventh Avenue, with Times Square-42 Street in the background Looking south down Sixth Avenue, with Radio City Music Hall (at 51 Street) in the background. The Helmsley CPS. One of the “Queen of Mean” residencies. Ya gotta love her! The Plaza. Soon to be residencies that nobody but the ubber rich can afford. www.theplaza.com/#RESIDENCES The Trump Building. CBS Morning news and the NFL today broadcast from the north side plaza, FAO Schwartz is also located on the Southside plaza and you enter the Apple Store “cube” from 5th Avenue. On the right side of the Picture is the Bergdorf Goodman Mens Store. The Bergdorf Building on the left the Sony America’s building in the rear The Bergdorf Goodman Department Store, followed by the Playboy Building’s crown, the Trump Fifth Avenue Building in the center and one of the CitiGroup buildings on the right rear. The Playboy Building The Sherry Netherland Hotel. You too can live in a one bedroom here for a meager $6.5 million dollars or upgrade to the multi level penthouse for $70 million. Ga’head, make an offer! Various Coops on fifth Avenue just north of 59 Street Looking south down Fifth Avenue. Tourist Hell! I'll be avoiding Fifth Avenue from Now until the New Year. The Fifth Avenue Holiday Star. Hang over the intersection of Fifth Avenue and 57 Street. Dorks waiting in line to get into the Apple Store….thank goodness I know where the secret bat entrance is! Departing the Apple Store, I cross head up to 60 Street and Fifth Avenue. Turning on to 60 Street I pass the handsome Metropolitan Club and head into Barney’s. They have a great sale going on. Items are marked 40-60% off. Its ridiculous. Happy that I found some fabulous bargains in Barney’s I head out the Madison Avenue entrance. Here are the Barney’s windows. I realize that Barney’s is trying to make a environmental statement, but in the 18 Years I’ve lived in NYC, these are most lackluster Barney’s windows I’ve ever seen, in either the Chelsea (now closed) or the Madison Avenue store. Bergdorf and Saks windows definitely have Barney’s beat this year, which is shocking! Looking North up Park Avenue Looking South down Park Avenue at the Helmsley 42 Street and the MetLife Building both with sit atop Grand Central Terminal. See the holiday Trees, they hide the ventilation shaft for the Metro North Railroad. The MNRR runs a maze of tunnels directly below Park Avenue. One of the buildings that served as the fictional home of George and Louise Jefferson Bloomberg headquarters and its attached One Beacon Court Condos And we end here at Bloomindales.
