January 11, 200817 yr This is my hometown. Can't believe someone posted photos, haha. The town actually went through a pretty impressive reconstruction of Main Street sometime in the last 3 years or so (I think it happened when I was living in Houston). The store fronts and Main Street in general looked much less inviting than it does now. It was a decent place to grow up, though too small for a city lover like me. My family still lives there though, so I'm back several times each year (particularly now that I'm just a quick drive away in Chicago as opposed to being all the way down in Houston).
January 11, 200817 yr Montpelier is a railroad town; big NS yard (former Wabash RR) there. Yup, definitely a big railroad town. We are the Montpelier Locomotives in school sports (or just the Locos, haha).
January 13, 200817 yr Bigger than I would've thought. Any chance you'll do Cygnet, OH? Nope, didn't visit that one while I was down there.
January 13, 200817 yr i've been there...and cygnet too. ha. nice town. this is a wonderful building. of course they need to restore the lower awning/streetlevel, but i bet it still got good bones down there.
