Old Oaks is a historic and tiny streetcar suburb located between the highway to the north and Livingston Ave to the south. It's basically an extension of Olde Towne East (including patches of blight) without the grand mansions. But hey, this is the first photo thread of this neighborhood on this site. I'm so proud of myself.  ;D

Yes, it is a real neighborhood and here's the sign to prove it!

Good photo set of a neighborhood that's a little bit off the beaten path in Columbus.

Great lookin brick church and brick parsonage (I assume?).  Puny lookin traffic calming circle!

Yeah, that was a small circle, but I think there were two along with a wide speed bump. You definitely don't hear much about this place and their website is like a year our of date.

Nice thread of an underappreciated neighborhood. It may be the first post devoted to Old Oaks, but it's not the first depiction of buildings there. I included shots of St. Johns and the rectory a year or so ago in a post on illustrious Columbus architect Frank Packard (though I have conflicting information on whether he designed the church).

Is that Columbus' most prominant twin-spired church?  I can't think of another around town.

Great job!

good job --- more columbus nabes to come i hope?

these two housing style types are quintessential columbus to me:

Quite a mixed bag. Overall, not bad.

You're in luck.

Nice set. What a great area.

Oh roundabout, you are my very special friend...round-a-bout.

All my time in Columbus and I had never heard of this neighborhood.  Thanks for sharing!

I Love all the brick homes in Columbus

great pictures, thanks for sharing.  Those homes seem really nice.

My old stomping grounds! Yeah the calming circles are small but people used to drive really fast down all of those side streets and a couple of kids were hit by cars a few years back so they really help now. Thanks for the pics!
