Posted June 12, 200421 yr Wheeling neighborhoods include the Victorian Old Town, Centre Wheeling, East End, and Downtown. These neighborhoods feature classic Victorian rowhouses and townhomes, beautiful grand pre-WWII buildings, and some of the finest variety of architecture (albeit rusted) for a city its size in the country. A city that seems to pack so much in such a small land area, exploring Wheeling is a must for any urban enthusiast. Centre Wheeling East Wheeling Infill, who knew... *eeek* Wheeling Island Victorian Old Town (aka North Wheeling) *whoops* And for the last two parts...that little town in Pennsylvania. April 24, 200520 yr It's been years since I was in Wheeling, and I never knew there was so much to it. Wonderful photos!
May 3, 200520 yr So many gems there awaiting renovation. I'd love to pick a bunch of that city up and transfer it to places with tight housing markets. The money would sure fly then. Wonderful set of pics ColDay, though I do have some concern about that 'burgh place which is trying to sneak into the thread. Thanks.
May 3, 200520 yr This shot looks familar: Here is a shot of Wheeling I took last year. Does the sun ever shine on this city?
August 27, 200717 yr Now that I'm there, I can say that yes it's quite sunny in Wheeling. And unfortunately, very hot right now. But the view from campus is beautiful. I'll try to get pics up sometime. PS - I actually did some community service in East Wheeling. They're putting a lot of effort into revitalizing the neighborhood properties, and will be putting in some new houses on empty lots when they can. Unfortunately, I forget the name of the group doing this.
