January 15, 200817 yr i know. slow as snails. on the positive side, i was surprized by that pic, that's the most construction activity i've seen to date. it looks like it's because now they are getting fined for falling behind schedule: http://www.ny1.com/ny1/content/index.jsp?stid=203&aid=77046 in the worker's defense, they say fixing the wtc "bathtub" and building the first new building's foundations is taking a lot longer than once expected. speaking of taking a long time, demo of the deustche bank building, which you can see a bit of shrouded on the right side, remains stalled following the deaths of two firefighters last year in a fire on the upper floors (caused by smoking). more: http://www.ny1.com/ny1/content/index.jsp?&aid=76620&search_result=1&stid=6

April 1, 200817 yr a bit of news today: New PATH Train Entrance Opens Tonight by Lysandra Ohrstrom | March 31, 2008 | Tags: Real EstatePATH TrainThe Port AuthorityThe World Trade Center The Port Authority is opening a new entrance at the World Trade Center PATH Station tonight in time for the Tuesday morning commute. The new entrance at Vesey Street and West Broadway will eventually replace the existing one at Church Street, which will close in mid-April to accommodate excavation and construction at the trade center site. The temporary PATH entrance is a key part of the rebuilding that’s under way at the site, the Port Authority said in a statement released Monday morning. Work on the Freedom Tower is almost at street level; the foundations for the World Trade Center Memorial are nearly complete; and construction of Towers 3 and 4 is underway on top of the 80-foot-deep bathtub the authority recently finished. http://www.observer.com/2008/new-entrance-path-train-opens-wtc-tomorrow
