Posted May 19, 200520 yr From the 5/19/05 Cincinnati Business Courier: Bethesda sets plans for tower Andrea Tortora Staff Reporter Almost a year after it was reported in the Courier, TriHealth Inc. has confirmed plans to build a new tower at its Bethesda North Hospital, specific details now are being revealed. Construction will begin immediately on the seven-story, $150 million tower. It will allow the Montgomery hospital to care for 11,000 more patients a year after it opens in 2008. The addition also will add 400 new jobs. "Demand for services at Bethesda North has consistently exceeded capacity for several years," said John Prout, TriHealth CEO. ... May 19, 200520 yr As a volunteer at Bethesda North i can vouch for the fact that more beds are sorely needed. Hallways do seem very cramped and the hospital usually rides around capacity on any given weekend (when i volnneteer).

He was there again May 24 as Bethesda North announced the beginning of a $150 million dollar expansion with a beam signing celebration. This is phase two of an expansion project that began in 2003 and 2004 with the opening of two-story lobby, additional parking and surgical suites. Blomberg was there with other Montgomery dignitaries and Bethesda officials to sign a beam that will be used in construction of the new seven-story patient tower. ...
