Posted January 22, 200817 yr I spent last weekend in Ashland for my cousin's wedding at AU; its a pleasant enough town but the courthouse is rather bland and isolated from the main street, which makes Ashland not feel like a county seat. Weird sky...
January 22, 200817 yr Yeah it sorta amazes me how many small towns in Ohio still look like they did in 1950's. I live in Lebanon and thats especially true here. I was just writing an article on my site about a place called "The Golden Lamb" http://zinzi.us/?q=node/140 I mean in Hamilton/Warren county there about 5 places that are perfectly restored "Americana". Not to mention Waynesville and Washington Courthouse or Deshler. I grew up near Glendale and that place is something else. Especially when they have the Civil War thing with the tents. Seems like you can go any direction and eventually you will find some tiny town thats a time capsule of Ohio history. Anyways thanks for the picts. Always kewl to see new places. Nice work..
January 22, 200817 yr Looks like Wilmington, sorta. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
January 23, 200817 yr i like the mural-age. pretty cool. Deshler...as in the one in NW Ohio? there's more than one?
January 23, 200817 yr that makes me wonder how many cities in ohio have the same name? at least a handful, no?
January 23, 200817 yr Nice shots. Looks like a nice little place. Too bad the courthouse doesn't live up to the rest of the town.
January 24, 200817 yr Not a bad looking town. Can't recall ever seeing pics of it before. Looks like some pretty nice old buildings there. Thanks.
