Man, what a great week. The Reds are exciting again.

Even more fun to come, according to the Hal McCoy, Home Bailey is pitching Thursday in Philly.

OOhh!  Hadn't heard that.

  • What a garbage take. And give it up about Seelbach. This has nothing to do with him. We all know you don't like him.   He wouldn't have said it on the air if he thought his mic was on. He kn

  • It's perfect timing, really. The RNC should invite him to speak at next week's victimfest along with all the other people that have been cancelled faced consequences for their actions.

  • The part that's most annoying to me is he started his apology by saying "if" I offended anyone, which is immediately insincere. I also like that he said "I'm a man of faith" like that is a good thing.

The team is not that bad. Only 5 below 500. We are last in our division but no where near being the worst of the worse in the league.

The Central is in a world of thier own!!!

I'm still pump to see the Red Sox come to town. I'm going to 2 of the 3.

The Cubs are going to be hard to catch.

The Red Sox series didn't go too well. Saturday's game was fun despite the lost, but Sunday's game got ugly early. Big crowds make for a great atmosphere.

Here's a pic from Sunday's game. We had seats right next to the GAP. A sweet view on a hot sunny day.

Wow, nice stitch job.  Especially with a film camera.

here's a weird statistic I found today

Jason Bay of the Pittsburgh Pirates has the Most Home Runs (14) by a visiting player and the highest batting average of any player with more than 100 at bats (.374, 55 for 147) at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.

I was warned by a chi-town transplant about Baker ... I am a believer now in that Baker doesn't know how to manage the game ........ to win, that is.

I'd be lying if I didn't expect the same out of Baker as he already exhibited in Chicago.

Why did we hire such a loser (pardon the word choice)?

I still think they should've given Pete Mackanin a chance! At first I was enthusiastic about Dusty but i've changed my mind after seeing how this year has turned out so far.

Dusty is easy to dislike, but after reading blurbs like this, I cut him some slack. Also, I believe he lives near the river. Not sure which side. But he seems to be interested in his surroundings.

"SOLD ON SAWYER: Baker spent the off day Monday walking along the Ohio River at Sawyer Point.

"I was so impressed," he said.

His son, Darren, was particularly into the timeline walkway that explains the development of the planet.

After seeing the statue of Cincinnatus, Darren asked: "Dad, he can fight with one hand?"

"He's fighting with one hand and farming with the other," Baker said. "That's a bad dude, that cat."

I love Dusty. No question his managerial style is a little too 'Old School,' but he is a genuine guy.

Now if we could just get him to realize Corey Patterson should never be in a major league lineup again....

"That's a bad dude, that cat."

That's a great quote...

I'm heading to the Yankees Reds game tonight to watch Voltron make them rich boys look silly!

.

I'm so happy the Redlegs won today! I cant express how much i hate the yankees.

I've had it up to here with Baker. This is a great baseball team (how long has it been when we could say this) ... some of the decisions are costing us game after game and why in the hell is someone playing in the MLB and cannot lay a bunt down?!?!? WTF?

- Man on 1st and 3rd with 2 outs and you send in "I can't hit .200 CPAT" to send in the tying run?

- Why does everyone on this team swing at the first pitch?

- Why, 1 season ago, we could score 10 runs every game, but give up 11?

- Why can't anyone on this team bunt, except for Hopper?

- Why can't anyone on this team produce runs for Arroyo or Harang?

- Why does Baker make time for bunting practice during critical-game-winning AB's?

- Why do we have such a problem with stealing bases this year compared to last?

... Can anyone help me out here?

I thought for sure Griffey was gonna have another walk off...but I feel your pain. I about had a heart attack when Patterson came up to bat. I was like WTF!?!? Dusty must have lost his mind or something. I could only imagine what it would be like if Harang and Arroyo were clicking along with Volquez and Thompsons great pitching. I know its not always their fault for the losses due to a lackluster offense at times, but take last years offense and couple it with our pitching this year and we have one hell of a team.

Reds are playing ok right now. This series against Chicago is going to be big.

^Huge!

The sweep of the Nationals was nice. I'm amazed how many former Reds are involved with that organization.

Just saw a commercial on TLC where Josh Hamilton is doing some home renovation show. He is helping to renovate the home that Shoeless Joe Jackson grew up in... We just traded him off season, too.... this could have been great press for the Reds.

^ I'm just as happy to have Volquez right now.

Volquez is coming back to earth. :(

Yeah I know and it sucks! I'm disappointed that it was such a terrible series against Colorado. Hopefully they rebound...still have hope! :P

Ken Griffey Jr. has just been traded to the Chicago White Sox pending his approval.

Adam Dunn's name is suddenly swirling around the rumor mill. The Rays and Diamondbacks have reportedly talked the Reds about him. SI.com reports that the D-Backs offered Chad Tracy. That would help the Reds corner the market on left-handed hitting first basemen.

Griffey's trade probably has something to do with a combination of his "death threat" gesture to Jeff Brantley and the fact that he really has been sucking lately. Hopefully Castellini also makes a smart move and trades Dunn off too!

Time for griffey to go.  I mean he really has not done much for the money we have paid him since he came over from Seattle.

Dunn. well he's a home run hitter but that's it. Not worth the money.

It was time!!

I have mixed emotions about the Griffey trade, but best of luck to him in Chi-town

He wants to win and Chicago is not a bad choice.

wow....

What's left on his contract?

He just accepted the trade. Good luck Griffey.

The Reds have traded Ken Griffey Jr. to the Chicago White Sox, pending his approval. A FoxSports.com report says Griffey has accepted the deal.

According to CBS sportsline.com, the Reds will get infielder Danny Richar and right-handed pitcher Nick Masset in the deal. The CBS report cited anonymous sources.

The Reds are expected to pay most of the Griffey's remaining contract this season, CBS reported.

I wish him luck, but he's a shell of his former self.

The Reds had a $16m option for 2009 that they would be insane to pick up.

I like this trade because we could put Danny Richar at 2b and move Brandon Phillips to SS.  That would seemingly make us younger/better in the infield.

I don't know that I would like to see Dunn go.  As much as he is ridiculed, players who consistently put up 40 home runs, 100+ runs, good on base percentage, and a 100+ RBI are players that are valuable to have in the lineup.  That would be a large void to fill for the Reds.

I doubt Dunn goes anywhere, we're not exactly stocked on outfielders when we have to look at putting Patterson in.

As for Junior, it's a good opportunity for him. It doesn't look like either player picked up is worth much but eeven though the Reds are picking up the rest of Junior's contract this year, they won't have to pay the buyout next year, so it's a small cost cutting move.

No way Phillips moves to short, sorry Rando

I am sad to see Griffey go, but I hope he at least gets some post season play this year or in the near future.  God knows he wasn't going to see it with the Reds.  I wonder what the "personalities" on WLW will complain about now.  From the talk show hosts to the sports announcers they have to be the whiniest bunch of b!tches I have ever heard.  Brantley is like fingernails on a chalkboard.

Good luck to Griffey, I hope he gets a ring finally. I'll be rooting for the ChiSox if/when they make the playoffs.

No way the Reds move Phillips to SS. He's a gold glove 2B, why mess w/ success?

Reds should lock Dunn up to a long term (4/5 years would be ideal) deal.

It sucks to see Griffey leave but at the same time i'm excited to see some roster moves. ESPN Insider reports that Dunn will likely stay now that Griffey is gone but surely there's a sweet deal for him lurking out there somewhere. July is always the best month for Dunn but it would be awesome if he could play that hot throughout the entire season. I'm curious as to what the rotation and bullpen will look like next year with Cueto improving and hopefully Thompson coming up full time. Not sure what to expect from Bailey though.

wow how low can the Reds go?

Our redlegs are falling apart.....they are in line to lose to the Astros tonight. Score is 5-0 top of the 5th. This is terrible.

I just heard Dunn was traded to Arizona.

He's emptying his locker right now!!

Seems like a realistic trade for someone who wasn't going to be back next year, though I'm surprised there weren't at least a couple teams interested enough to get a bit better return. Guess it's time to turn the page on Bowden's Reds, and that can't be a bad thing.

Good not all the Kentuckians can burn their "Get er Dunn" shirts I have seen floating around town.
