Posted January 31, 200817 yr Wayne is located in Wayne County along Michigan Avenue. It's population is about 19,000. The Historic Wayne Theatre opened in 1926 and closed in 1985 when there was a huge $1 million dollar fire. It was never used after that and plans are to demolish it in April despite many efforts to raise money to restore the building.
January 31, 200817 yr I think you are seeing it as it is. The retail, office, and lobby portion is where that empty lot is. The actual theater was separated from the main building by an alley.
