What's wrong with marrying a Russian stripper who's visa is expiring?

Seriously. Every time I bring this up, people act like I'm crazy. I'm just saying HYPOTHETICALLY, I would do it. I mean look at it this way, she gets citizenship and I qualify for massive financial aid based on my income because I'm not longer a dependent on my parents (which you are until you're either 24 or married). I'll show those FAFSA bastards!

Discuss.

Isn't that illegal??

Of course it's illegal, you just can't go about marrying anyone for any reason!!!!

Reminds me of this old commercial!!

I had a few friends who married Peruvians and they were put through a gauntlet in order to get the OK to get married.

You can marry whoever you want for whatever reason you want(of a different sex), or atleast that's what I've always thought.

^when visas are involved, it gets complicated.

*yawn* @ morals.

moral have nothing to do with it David.  It's illegal because they don't want what you talked about doing to happen!

Yeah well I don't want women marrying rich older men for their money then having a kid by them as leverage when they get a divorce. If it's illegal to marry Russian strippers for economic gain, it should be illegal across the board. Besides, what's  wrong with having more hot Russian girls in the U.S?

Are we really having this conversation??

Its not about how hot they are. Its not about leverage for divorces. Its about not creating a loophole where more people could gain entry to the US. I'm not saying that I agree with the policy, but that's how it is.

So much for what's written on the statue of liberty.

^I don't remember anything about hot Russian strippers with expiring visas, but that would be pretty cool if there were something like that ;)

This thread needs pictures.

^ If they're anything like in the Wendy's commercial, lets do without.

so if you are doing it mainly for your gain, why not pick up some fine young American stripper?  :-D

Seriously, tho, have your parents take out the parent loan, and then you pay it back for them!  That's what my daughter has promised to do one day when she is wealthy!

It is not illegal to marry someone when their Visa is about to expire. It may raise eyebrows, but in reality, they cannot stop you. The qualifications are that you just have to know and have met the person IN person, not just chatting on the phone or online, but you have to follow certain process. You cannot just walk into a Las Vegas chapel.

I can go to Russia, meet a girl, then after that, she is allowed to visit me here and get married after getting the required marriage Visa.

I know a lot about this as I knew a Russian girl for over 5 years and researched what it would take for her to come here. All it took was for me to visit her first, that was it. Nothing more.

Of course we never got married ;-)

The cool thing about Russian girls is they always look good before they go out in public.
