Posted February 2, 200817 yr I wasn't sure if anyone has mentioned this on the forum before. I did a search but didn't find anything on it. If it has already been brought up I apologize. Massive land project no longer a secret By MISTY MAYNARD, Staff Writer Ledger Independent Tuesday, November 13, 2007 After weeks of rumors and speculation, plans for several thousands of acres acquired by Prodenken Investments LLC, and consequently WyldWood Development Group, have finally been shared with the public. During an invitation-only presentation Tuesday afternoon to local officials at the French Quarter Inn, members of the WyldWood Development team shared the plans for what was previously termed a "residential development project" that will cost several hundreds of millions of dollars to build over the next eight to nine years. The residential development project was the brainchild of Mason County native Jim Barry who, according to information released in September, wanted to created something of lasting value in his hometown area. His idea was for an upscale residential community. MORE: http://www.maysville-online.com
February 2, 200817 yr Maysville Riverpark would be located in Wyldwood trade By OWEN McNEILL, Staff Writer Thursday, January 24, 2008 In a special meeting Thursday, Maysville City Commission approved a resolution concerning a developmental option for the Maysville Riverpark. The resolution calls for the exploration of a land trade which would enable the Wyldwood development team to purchase the current Maysville Riverpark and develop that property into a marina for the private use of the proposed Wyldwood Development in exchange for similar facilities constructed on the old landfill property which is just east of the current riverpark. In essence, the developers will receive the Riverpark property for use in the proposed multimillion dollar development project primarily for its location if, and only if, they develop similar amenities for the public on the old landfill property. The new city property will include a enclosed pavilion structure as well. MORE: http://www.maysville-online.com

April 1, 200817 yr Going as planned? There should have been property acquisitions at this stage -- if it was going as planned -- yet, there have been none. The developers bit off more than they could chew -- especially in an area like Maysville, which is depressed economically. Wyldwood project going as planned By Owen McNeill, Ledger Independent, April 1, 2008 The Wyldwood Kentucky development project is proceeding along as planned even though no local properties have been transferred into the LLC's name and no new money has changed hands, officials with the project said Monday. According to Wyldwood Kentucky, LLC spokesperson Ed D'Angelo, lending delays continue for the $600 million development project. "We're still trucking along," D'Angelo said, "As soon as the financial markets settle down we will be able to progress in these closings. Right now, it's a question of exactly what the project will cost and what return lenders will receive. That's a hard number to pin down right now with the markets bouncing around like they are. Fortunately, we have a project that the financial markets really like. It's a difficult time right now in terms of funding concerns for these larger development projects and we feel fortunate that we have such an extraordinary project. Kentucky is such a beautiful state, probably one of the best kept secrets in this country, this project will really give it a chance to show off. If we didn't have one of the better investment projects going, we would be worried, but we do and we're not." No one associated with the Wyldwood Development would go on record naming a date for property closings.
April 1, 200817 yr The aesthetics of any development that spells Wild with a Y are already questionable.
April 1, 200817 yr There have been many other developments (mostly dealing with the riverfront) that I've posted at SSC here. I completely forgot about one at UO. In essence, they haven't purchased any properties, have no financial backing, and are only speculating demand for this mega development -- on a very large scale for a predominantly agriculturally-based and economically-depressed area.
October 19, 200816 yr What has become of Wyldwood? By Marla Toncray, Ledger Independent, October 17, 2008 As the first year anniversary of the announcement of the Wyldwood of Kentucky development approaches, plans for the multimillion dollar project are still on hold. On Nov. 13, 2007, representatives of the Wyldwood development team held an elaborate presentation at the French Quarter Inn which was attended by local politicians, business organizations and property owners. Steve Presson, president and CEO of Coast Resource Development, Inc. of Coral Springs, Fla., presided over the presentation, during which plans for a $520 million residential and commercial venture on Stonelick Road in eastern Mason County and a hunting preserve on Clarks Run Road were revealed. As of Friday, there has still been no official word from Wyldwood executives as to when closings will be held on the assemblage of properties involved in the development. The last contact with Wyldwood Kentucky, LLC spokesperson Ed D'Angelo took place in April 2008, when he answered questions from The Ledger Independent about the continued lending delays for the project.
October 20, 200816 yr I was wondering about this the other day. Even though the Wyldwood developers denied it, I'm sure all this had something to do with the previous gambling proposal. They were probably waiting to see how everything panned out before going any further with their plans. I know a couple of people who own property that was to be bought and they have no clue as to what is going on. One guy told me that they gave him something like a down payment...I guess as good faith that they would actually buy the property. I'm sure McRoberts received some money as well, probably a nice amount considering the building was an important asset to their plan.
October 25, 200816 yr Canned response, as usual. Wyldwood officials address status of project By Marla Toncray, Ledger Independent, October 23, 2008 Following a story which appeared recently in The Ledger Independent, a press release was issued Tuesday by Ed D'Angelo, chief financial negotiator for the Wyldwood Kentucky project addressing the status of property closings and delays of the multi-million dollar mixed use development. "Everyone is anxious to know when the anticipated resort development known as Wyldwood Kentucky will close and the development begin construction. While on the surface it may appear that little is going on, behind the scenes is a different and very encouraging story," the press release begins. "The economy has played havoc with our plans," D'Angelo said in the release. "But let me assure you, we are still in the running and incredible time, money, effort, and energy has gone into ensuring Wyldwood Kentucky in Maysville will become a reality -- just not under the timeline we originally anticipated."
