Posted February 4, 200817 yr In order to kickoff our fundraising efforts for the UrbanOhio.com Tackle the Tower team, I'm re-posting these shots I took from the roof of the Tower at Erieview. Several of us will be participating in the Tackle the Tower benefit this Saturday, February 9th. We'll be walking up 37 floors to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland*. If you're unable to join us, perhaps you'd consider making a donation via the UrbanOhio.com team page: http://www.firstgiving.com/urbanohio *Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland, Inc. Since 1979, Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland has supported families by providing them with a temporary home away from home while their children receive treatment for serious illness, injuries, or birth defects at area medical centers. The Ronald House provides families with more than just a comfortable bed and hot meal -- they find support, compassion, and understanding as well as opportunities for fun and laughter despite the challenges they face. clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram

February 4, 200817 yr That last photo -- I hate you! Got a major dose of vertigo, there. Yea! No kidding! I would faint and fall over the edge if I did that,
February 4, 200817 yr Hey MayDay, do you have any good night shots from "up top"? I would love to see how Cleveland sparkles at night ;-)
February 4, 200817 yr Thanks Rich - I hope others will follow your example! :-D No Ronnie, no night shots from up there - that'd be a great vantage point though! clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram

January 18, 201213 yr I have often wondered what was in under the "glass-looking" portion of the top of the Fifth-Third building. I'm sure its just a mechanical penthouse, but It almost looks like an atrium of sorts.
January 19, 201213 yr I get creepy just looking at the last picture. My knees are shaking. Nice set of pictures.

If you mean the top of the hipped roof, just below and between the spires - that's not glass, that's HVAC vents. clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
January 19, 201213 yr Yes, that last picture is awesome and nerve-wracking at the same time! And in looking at this picture.... http://www.clevelandskyscrapers.com/towererieview/towererieview23.jpg ...it makes me realize that if 1717 East 9th (the most recent former East Ohio Gas building) is converted to housing, it is going to need some more amenities around it (dry cleaner, convenience store, a restaurant and cafe open in the evenings, etc). There is the CVS across East 9th, but it's not open late enough, nor is anything at the Galleria. February 20, 201213 yr Oh, I wanted to do this, but next year would be better. Plan to use the staircase in my building as a "training ground" since there are abotu 25 floors. Actually, I was thinking of the one at Tower City in March.
