Haha the Subway Inn.

You should delete that shot of the Juan Valdez Cafe!  Their coffee is just "so-so" and the service even worse.  I actually walked out without buying anything after getting 'tude from one of the workers - ME - walking away from coffee!  You know it's bad!   This place is to be avoided at all cost.  thank goodness they are only in NYC and DC.  However, I get the sneaking suspicion they are trying to join the coffee war.

I love the Beacon Court Condo, the views are amazing, and for a new built condo, the units are nice.

I haven't been inside Lord & Taylor in years, but that first floor picture gave me May Co. flash backs.

Yeah the Bloomingdale's employees go there are after work, to liquor up!    Catch one or two sloshed employees there and get an employee discount card.  hint..hint.

So I'm staying on Long Island with a friend, crashing on the couch, until I find a place near/in the city.  I go to get my weekly ticket for the LIRR and the machine charges me yet must have been out of tickets to print on.. so I walk away with $100 less and no ticket.. damn LIRR.

go to the MTA website, there is a number to call about that.

Yeah I called, it's a glorified answering machine during the weekend.. so I left a message, explained the situation in detail, etc.. we'll see what happens.. not a good way to start off this new job..  :x

Wonderful photos. I love the sudden bright splashes of color and neon amid the near-monochrome chilly, damp grayness.

Awesome set!

Is this the number you called?

Call toll free: (877) LIRR TSM if you have any questions, comments or problems. Be sure to give the machine ID number, located on the front of the machine below the touch-screen.

Yes it was the number I called.

Wonderful shots.  Nothing can compare to New York for street activity, interesting people watching, and just the variety and number of shops.  I think I need to make a trip soon.

Very good.

Nice.

The second-to-last shot is my fave.

Hey, what's the building with the gold turret balls up top?

Great set!  It's so easy to just to walk and walk and walk and keep walking looking at all the buildings!

So did you stop in to see if it really deserved that extra star?

that one is the central synagogue (1872).

Thanks! Amazing how many of these old houses of worship suffered fires (or multiple fires) and were salvaged and restored. Even more amazing that this synagogue suffered a modern fire -- I thought church fires were a relic of the pre-1900 years, or at least that's when so many of them seemed to have occurred.

Oy...this is just gorgeous:

UR, I think that particular picture makes Lord & Taylor look much better that it actually is.

I haven't been in the store in a while but the last time I was there it was pretty cheesy.

A good cleaning, some restorative and historical work.  The main level could be a show place.

The ceiling and columns are what did me in...although they need to take those hideous mirrors off of those fantastic columns.
