February 12, 200817 yr Not too bad, indeed. Lots of nice brick buildings stacked up and down the hillsides, and a most elegant courthouse.
February 12, 200817 yr Looks charming. Lots of nice hills, always a plus. You really get around! Don't know how you kept the camera still long enough to take photos; just looking at these shots makes me shiver.

February 13, 200817 yr ... one of my favorite areas in the world... that whole region between Cadiz and Steubenville is a glimpse into an America long gone. Rural as can be but with strong eastern european ties... from coal miners, steel workers to gangsters, I love that area. There are some charming little towns off the beaten path... railroad line torn out... abandoned tunnels and tressels... from Smithfield to Hopedale, to the red brick streets of Adena and the tiny hollow of Piney Fork. ... and you drive to the big city (Cadiz), the home of Clark Gable, to get a wonderful DiCarlos pizza... ... I've been to every state and around the world and the unique charm of this little area still makes me smile...

February 13, 200817 yr This looks like a nice town! It reminds me of St. Clairsville in a way. thanks for photographing all these small towns that I would never get to otherwise see, Ink.
February 13, 200817 yr actually, I loop St Clairsville into that same area... I call it all "rural grit"...
