What are you lovebirds planning for significant other this Valentines Day?

Nothing. I have no significant other. I hate this day. I hate being single. I didn't realize how much being single sucks until I quit drinking (5 years ago) and smoking (one month ago). Now I'm just a bitter and lonely sonofabitch.

So in commemoration of this day, National Singles Awareness Day, I brought Nine Inch Nails' Pretty Little Hate Machine CD with me and listened to it at full volume while I drove to work this morning.

Well KJP, don't feel bad, I thought I would have a VD for the first time in a decade. I've been getting to know someone or as my dad says "courtin'" and got nothing although he told me I should expect a package today and do as instructed in the package, and that was two days ago! Now I feel weird because I sent him a gift. :|

National Singles Awareness Day?! I like that. I guess in our Political Correct era, that is the predecessor to, He-Man Woman-Haters, day?

Since neither of us is ultra-sappy and I'm still nursing a cold, the most my partner and I will do is go to one of our local spots - nothing fancy. He did just stop by and drop off a card and a flower - swoooon... :-)

Thats sweet. So what did you get for him?

UncleRando, it's the thought that counts!

Mr. rockandroller is recovering for a tonsillectomy and I have to work at my 2nd job tonight so that's my big plans.

Rando, with a description like this: "Your sampler could include the following flavors: Triple Chocolate Chunk Chunky Walnut Toffee Almond Crunch Butter Pecan Peanut Butter 'Buckeye' Blitz Raspberry Soiree Hot Chocolate (Aztec Spicy) Kona Buzz (Espresso) Cheesecake" I think you did just fine!

A little bit of Nunya, a pinch of Dayum and a healthy helping of Bidness! ;-)

let's keep this straight, it is St. Valentine's Day!! :)

If anyone is looking for a nice bouquet of roses that won't break the bank (like most florists) I am very happy with what I picked up yesterday after work at The Fresh Market (in Shaker Heights right at the end of the blue line rapid). They are very reasonable, but nicer than the supermarket flowers, the woman who arranges them makes them look wonderful (at least she's been there the last two years when I picked up bought my flowers there), and they also have a nice assortment of vases to choose from, not just those bland glass ones many places have.

DISCLAIMER: I am in no way affiliated with The Fresh Market. :)

Let's keep this what?

lol, I didn't mean it that way.

You have VD??

Wow Mayday, I was trying to figure out what Nunya, Dayum and Bidness were, and finally got it after saying all three together. I must be a moron.

I got my Wife chocolate covered strawberries from Pharoh's. She loves those once a year....and so do I. The best was my daughter got me a box of Mike and Ike's because she see's me buy them in the check out line all the time. She gave them to me before work this morning. How cool is that.

^^Mine got twizzlers. Which he can't eat yet. :)

Mostly everyone in the office is wearing red today, but I wore black and blue because women make me black and blue!

No valentine for me today, but I take it in stride. It's really just another day.

Well, my honey just had flowers delivered to me at work, so now it's time for me to start freaking out and figure out where to stop and get something on the way home.

HELL NO! I'm a germaphobe and celibate!

Valentines Day exists to remind us how much happy people suck.

(Comfort + Having sh!t in common + a shred of attraction) x Time = Love

Bah!11

No more happy talk about happy people with happy SO's. You all make me unhappy.

To prepare the missus for another rose-free Valentine's Day, I showed her this Mother Jones article I read four years ago about the heinously evil commercial rose farms in Equador.

Then I ordered two dozen roses and a box of organic truffles from Organic Boquet, sellers of Veriflora certified get-me-laidables.

we'll im sorry I started this thread.

I got stood up, in an airport, for Valentines weekend. I'm sent the information for one way ticket to IAD saying I'll meet you there and we proceed to our final destination. I show up....he doesn't. Although, senor a**hole boarded a plane in LA, which landed in IAD before mine - yet he hasn't answered one of my phone calls, since Friday.

HUMPH!

Men are back to being dead to me!

MTS-that is awful. You must come to a meet up so we may counsel and fully analyze you. My guess is you pick total jerks.

I am happy in a relationship, but I think Valentines day is a corporate scam and a holiday to smugly make unattached people feel bad (been there done that). I am remiss to celebrate b/c I look down upon it for that reason. Kind of like gay people not being able to get married, I think even the happy couples should reject it on principle. Out of respect and adoration of my spouse there is always a modest acknowledgement of our deep appreciation of the other, but none of this crap assuming our love is more grand than all others.

edit: I would like to analyze KJP too. Love that stuff!

Oh honey it wasn't that bad. I waited for 90 minutes, and after two phone calls, I jumped into cab and went to the Park Hyatt and spent the weekend at the SPA.

I've only had one relationship (10 years) which ended badly. I met this guy was growing on me and we were getting to know each other. He lives in LA, so I wasn't trying to rush into anything. However, its his loss personally and professionally.

Note to you whippersnappers, never leave work at someone house you're dating, especially when you work in advertising (I work in PR/Marketing/Branding) and you've left your firms advertsing strategy deck sitting on my countertop. :-o

I could really be a big bitch and bring down your company!

I don't know about all the work mumbo jumbo you are talking out, but I love a big bitch!

I don't know about all the work mumbo jumbo you are talking out, but I love a big bitch!

We'll as my mother once told me, "Don't be a bitch, without a cause!"

I think Valentines day is a corporate scam and a holiday to smugly make unattached people feel bad

Yeah, it's a corporate scam, but that doesn't change the fact that I'm still single the other 364 days of the year too!

I would prefer to have an unattached woman with big boobs analyze me. You meet only half my criteria.
