Lapeer is the county seat of Lapeer County.  It has a population of about 9,000.

The Lapeer County Courthouse was built in 1845-46.  It is the oldest standing courthouse in Michigan that still serves its original purpose.

I have an aunt and uncle that live in Lapeer, but it has been years and years since I've been up there.  I really don't remember anything about the town, so thanks for sharing the pics!

Thanks!

Looks pleasant. That house in the second-to-last photo is mighty extravagant, and huge for a wood structure.

Michigan's small towns sure are pretty.

Cute town.  Michigan does Victorian homes so well--the clapboard house with the tower is fantastic.
