Any good tips on living space in Downtown Cincinnati or Over-the-Rhine? Could use a smallish or low-end place, but not a crack house. Just wondering.

He sends out weekly emails about whats going on in OTR and sends listings of all their properties in otr that are currently available.  A lot of the units have youtube videos.....if you want I can forward you the email, just give me yours.  But yea there are a lot of amazing places and cheap. 

You should check out Garfield Tower Apartments.  I toured the place a couple months ago, and it is somewhat dated, but fronts on Piatt Park, has an enclosed rooftop pool, fitness center, storage, and washer/dryer in the building.

 

The place is also VERY affordable, and perfect for a starter apartment.  To be honest I would have gone there, but my gf and I wanted some other features that weren't available there (i.e. walk-in closet, balcony, washer/dryer in unit).

I've also heard Lytle Tower (not Lytle Place) is affordable.  Haven't been inside though.

 

Urban Sites does have some places usually that are pretty reasonable.  I remember looking at a few on Main, including above Kaldi's like 5 years ago.

I've toured Garfield Tower Apartments and Lytle Tower.

 

Both are pretty nice, and in nice areas of downtown.  Lytle seems to be an older building and a little more dated than Garfield, but in good condition, and Garfield has more options as mentioned above, such as a pool, etc. but is also a little more expensive than Lytle.

Eigth and State, what's your price range? We lived in the CBD for a few years, so we can probably offer a good suggestion.

My husband and I rented a studio apartment on Court Street before we moved into our condo.  It was on the block between Vine and Walnut.  It was only 800SF but $450/month.  Our only issue was we were on the 4th floor with no elevator.  They have coin laundry that we used too.  It was a great deal, and we would recommend the place to others. I believed they had 1 bedroom and 2 bedrooms available.  We parked on Court street at night with no issues......

I have a great apartment at 144 Mulberry.  Cork floors, view of CBD, exposed rock wall, just totally redone.  2 floors connected with a spiral staircase.  1 Bedroom but could be 2 for $750 a month.

Sycamore Place and East 8 has some great 1 bedroom apartments and some cool common areas.  Ask to speak to Samara when you go there and tell her Jayson sent you.

 

Both are very pet friendly.

you are the "downtown" Nazi.  You would have had a point if you said this isn't Over the Rhine.  Technically it is Mt. Auburn as it is on the north side of Mulberry.

Yes, the north side of mulberry is mt auburn, the south side is OTR.  CBD is downtown. 

 

I lived at 4th and plum downtown for 2 years and enjoyed it. I heard they were under new ownership or something though.  The infamous all nighter rooftop pool parties were pretty rad.  8-)

Over-the-Rhine is fine.

 

I expect to be at my new job for perhaps a year so I would prefer to rent or otherwise not have a lot of money invested in it. I'm just looking for a cheap place to crash.

 

 

I live in the Emery Apartments at Central and Walnut, and I pay $750 for the smallest of the units available. They can go up in price depending on size.

 

I wish I still had data on the other places I checked out.
