Posted February 17, 200817 yr Peachtree Hills is a sub-neighborhood in the Buckhead community. Lots of money here, many of these homes you'll see are going for $600,000 or so. This is on the more modest side of Peachtree (East), when compared to the stately Western side of Peachtree that includes some massive homes with outrageous pricetags. The one thing that I still am blown away by here is that these neighborhoods are 1-2 blocks off of Peachtree Street which is lined with skyscrapers and what not. It just really blows the mind...plus the shear amount of wealth down here is amazing. I'll also add that the neighborhood is incredibly walkable with very little traffic. The more heavily traveled streets are designed with traffic calming elements (curb bump outs, speed humps, narrow driving lanes). It is a great location, and an extremely comfortable place. February 17, 200817 yr Atlanta has some nice surprises. Not exactly the most urban stuff, but definitely comfortable in that Southern kind of way.

February 20, 200817 yr Overall, I like the look and feel of the suburb. Its nothing needlessly exorbitant(well not counting price), and its something more comfortable than typical development.

Buckhead isn't all that. It's change a lot, but many of those homes in that area are rentals. One thing Atlanta does do well is "put on an appearance" of wealth. You'd be surprised by the many people that, look, dress, "act" like they "got it goin' on" but are living with 4 other people or out of the trunk of their car.
