February 19, 200817 yr A little invention by Wilbur and Orville Wright. Agreed. Not just because I'm from Dayton, but because they accomplished what so many have tried, and what so many believed at the time was not possible...heavier than air flight.

February 19, 200817 yr ^I know this is risky, but check my avatar for the best beer to come out of Great Lakes. Eliot Ness Did lostincincy win? :)
February 19, 200817 yr Nope - too malty for my tastes. You know what THAT means... Well, I for one am glad we all have different tastes...otherwise they'd have to just make one beer to please everybody. What would they call that beer? Light American Lager. Yummmm....... Anyways, back on topic... One of my favorite things to come out of Ohio (I know this is kind of stupid, but hey) is the AT&T (Daily Planet) building. I think part of the reason I think it's cool is because I liked the Daily Planet long before I realized it was inspired by that building.
February 19, 200817 yr Yeah...although it wasn't really a contest. I think I just lost, though. :| Well, don't feel that bad about it. You gave the clue which started the whole thing, it was worth something. Plus I'm agreeing with you and Lost's choice. Sorry May... XD
February 19, 200817 yr Thomas Edison. This site wouldn't be here without him. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers

February 20, 200817 yr Sunshine and kittens and puppies and flowers. All invented in Ohio. That is about as gay as an Ungaro Spring frock!
February 20, 200817 yr Thomas Edison. This site wouldn't be here without him. Or your mom. A). You're not the pope. B). Do you want to get banned? "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
February 20, 200817 yr I have to agree with ColDayMan (on Thomas Edison -- not the banning). A lot of things might not have been invented (or as early) had it not been for Thomas Alva -- here's just a few of the 1,000+ inventions for which he received patents... Automatic Telegraphy Cement Disc Phonograph Electric Generator Electric Lamp Electric Light and Power System Electric Pen Loud-Speaking Telephone Motion Pictures Ore Milling Quadruplex Telegraph Stock Ticker Storage Battery Telephone Transmitter Tinfoil Phonograph Vote Recorder Wax Cylinder Phonograph SOURCE: http://edison.rutgers.edu/inventions.htm the first wind turbine to generate electricity That's lame. Why? Charles Brush may save the planet from suffocating on its own emissions from burning fossil fuels. He just came up with the invention 100 years before anyone applied it for mass use. February 20, 200817 yr Sunshine and kittens and puppies and flowers. All invented in Ohio. That is about as gay as an Ungaro Spring frock! Coming from you I'm not sure if that's an insult or complement. Especially because I have no idea what an Ungaro Spring frock is. Does it come from Ohio?
February 20, 200817 yr I didn't know Carmen was from Ohio! Such a beautiful state.... "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
