Posted May 30, 200520 yr Can't get enough of the forum here??......If you have an internet enabled phone visit: http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php?wap2 or http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php?imode :wink2: :-D 1/11/13 Now if you visit the main forum URL using a smart phone, the new mobile theme should be shown automatically.
December 9, 200519 yr I just tried to use both of the above links on my Blackberry, and it wouldn't connect...just wanted to check, are they still up and operational? Could easily have been the Blackberry...
January 4, 200619 yr It didn't work that day, but I figured it was my Blackberry's fault - it chokes on webpages regularly - but I just tried again and it worked great, both links. I just don't see any way to log in or to post...I see it when I hit the links in my browser, but no in my blackberry...any thoughts?
January 11, 200619 yr Rich, thanks for setting this up, it looks beautiful on my phone and I will actually use it.
January 11, 200619 yr Rich, thanks for setting this up, it looks beautiful on my phone and I will actually use it. I could tell you I slaved for hours setting it up, but to be honest it's built in. Just another reason to love SMF.
February 28, 200817 yr Just a friendly bump for any new members not knowing they can get their UO fix anywhere.
February 28, 200817 yr Nice! I can now surf UO on my PDA while taking my 30 minute crap at work every day :)
February 28, 200817 yr Nice! I can now surf UO on my PDA while taking my 30 minute crap at work every day :) I prefer to break bricks while breaking bricks.
February 28, 200817 yr Nice! I can now surf UO on my PDA while taking my 30 minute crap at work every day :) That'll give me a nice mental picture when I see one of your posts tomorrow.
February 28, 200817 yr I sleep, play Monopoly on the PDA, surf the Internet... it's like my miniature office. And I occasionally poop. :P
February 28, 200817 yr Well, I did try UO on my phone. It cost me $3.50 to view one forum thread :( :(
February 28, 200817 yr Sleep!?!?! You must get numb legs! What cellular provider do you have? It sounds like you need Verizon...$15/mo add-on gives you VCast, which means videos, ESPN MVP, and most importantly, unlimited mobile web. I used to get charged out the azz for mobile web when I paid $5/mo for it because it used up minutes (and now they do per-megabyte charges), but the VCast VPak gives you unlimited mobile web, something they don't really advertise. Steering back on topic... I used the WAP version on my old phone (LG VX8300) and it was beautiful. I actually found it by accident...I would sometimes try new sites I liked just to see how they worked on the phone and lo and behold UO was WAPified. On my new phone (LG Voyager) I can just use the full HTML version, which is pretty cool because I get all the pictures (no jokes about the bathroom and show a pic of yourself thread please).
February 28, 200817 yr I have the LG Voyager too and it's pretty sweet. Not sure if I want to drop the extra $15 per month on 2 lines each month for the Vcast.
February 29, 200817 yr I don't need the Internet on my phone or anything (it's Helio), but I was just playing around with it. I would never use a Crackberry or anything like that unless it was given to me and paid for by my company.
February 29, 200817 yr ^^Just get it on your line then. :) ^If you're gonna be on the crapper for 30 minutes at a time, you definitely need internet on your phone.
March 3, 200817 yr ^If you're gonna be on the crapper for 30 minutes at a time, you definitely need internet on your phone. That's how Snake comes in so handy. It is the poor man's version of internet on your phone. :-D
May 14, 200817 yr The mobile address may be a little tough to remember so now when using your phone to surf, go to www.urbanohio.com/m This will direct your phone to the mobile forum. If you go to the same address with a laptop or desktop, it will direct you to the regular main page.
May 15, 200817 yr can you guys look at the layout via a mobile device, the quotes are all off, anything that is quoted is difficult to read. it appears weird on a Iphone, treo and blackberry.
May 15, 200817 yr looks just fine on blackberry with opera mini (if you don't have it on your blackberry yet, check it out - operamini.com)
May 29, 200817 yr Two thumbs up to the OP. It runs beautifully on the iphone, especially when there's wifi
February 26, 200916 yr Is anyone else having a problem accessing the mobile site? When I go to the mobile address, it just keeps reloading in a constant loop. I'm trying to see if it's a site issue or my phone.
February 26, 200916 yr Yeah, I go on here all the time with my smartphone, but I can't post from it. Also puts up a fight if I try to look at a photo thread. I also can't post at city-data from it but I can post at other forums. What's up with that? Does my phone just hate cities? (However, I should mention that I set up my other forum accounts off of my phone)
February 26, 200916 yr I've always been able to post from my Blackberry - but I got a new netbook yesterday so I just got rid of my Blackberry internet so I can't check now..... But like I said - I never had any problems posting. I could never view any photos, though.
February 26, 200916 yr what type of units do you folks have and what type of software is your unit running.
February 26, 200916 yr Is anyone else having a problem accessing the mobile site? When I go to the mobile address, it just keeps reloading in a constant loop. I'm trying to see if it's a site issue or my phone. I'm aware of this issue and will fix it this weekend.
February 26, 200916 yr I could never view any photos, though. The wireless portion of the forum does not show pictures.
February 26, 200916 yr Thanks, Rich. I can use the full version of the site fine from my smartphone, the only problem is with the mobile site. In case it helps. I'm using Windows Mobile 6.1 on an HTC smartphone.
February 27, 200916 yr what type of units do you folks have and what type of software is your unit running. Samsung phone with Verizon. I just got it a couple of months ago. Great reception, and I can get on the internet anywhere, but it really doesn't work with this forum.
January 11, 201312 yr I know this thread is very old but I wanted to bump it in hopes to get feedback on the new mobile theme. It should automatically show up for those using smart phones. I think it's pretty awesome, even better than tapatalk or any other mobile method. Please post feedback if you have any.
July 28, 201410 yr Today I spent several hours making a mobile UrbanOhio. So head over to urbanohio.com on your mobile browser and let us know if there are any issues. Thanks!
