Posted February 27, 200817 yr Shelby has a pretty decent downtown and the Kahoe Center, a satelite of North Central State (a small university that shares a campus with OSU-Mansfield).
February 27, 200817 yr At first when I saw this thread, I thought "Shelby County" but then I realized it was a city and had to look on the map. Nice shots. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
February 27, 200817 yr Ink, you actually made Shelby look good. Local trivia -- the Shelby High School mascot is the "whippet" -- similar to a small greyhound (ugly dog).
February 27, 200817 yr Nice Pictures. The Kehoe Center is really nice inside. It is not just a satellite of NCSC, but it is also home to Pioneer, a vocational/tech prep school.
February 28, 200817 yr I'm really not sure what to think about Shelby... I don't think I would have guessed that the population was about 10,000.
February 28, 200817 yr ^Neither do I. Shelby is odd. The main street is lined with many great buildings, but there isn't any sense of place, no landmark, no town center, etc. In fact, there seems to be kind of a vacant area all around downtown; the neighborhoods aren't all that contiguous as in most small towns.
