March 3, 200817 yr yeah it's a stunner, except the top doesn't look like it matches with the bottom of it(?) nice little town. wait -- where's the 'ol double-decker bus by the highway?
March 3, 200817 yr Great pics Ink. That first photo kinda sums up London for me. Wonderful county courthouse and way too many railroad tracks! A little background on that second photo of the burned out building. This was an office building for the Shaw Grain Elevators located next to it. They caught fire after being struck by lightning around two years ago. I read that the City of London is suing Shaw to force them to tear down the remains of these buildings.
March 4, 200817 yr Looks like a nice small town. The courthouse is a stunner....those second empire brick heaps are always head turners. Nice old buildings, and I really liked the 50' woman's curlers on the flatbed.
March 4, 200817 yr I never cared for London as I always felt "it was once a great town but they stripped it so much" and again, the "openness" of the city felt very off for a small town (as I view small towns to be intimate). Great shots, though. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
March 4, 200817 yr Although I'm sure it is outside of the typical commuting area for Columbus, do many people that live in London commute to Columbus for work?
March 6, 200817 yr My mother was born on the second floor of this building. The first floor was once the jail. The second floor was the Sheriff's residence (her grandfather was the Sheriff at the time).
