There's a new greeter in the dim beige library of the Western Reserve Historical Society: Big Boy in his red and white overalls.

Little Italy donated all its pictures and artifacts, including the old sicilian cart, to the western reserve after the neighborhood musuem had to close last year .  Hopefully, there will be a good display of the material under the new president.

Vatican Splendors

Exhibit a celebration of art, culture,

Christianity and history

By Wendy A. Hoke

In the first century of the Common Era, during the time of Christ, there’s a legend that says King Abgar of Edessa in modern day Turkey had an incurable sickness. Hearing of the miracles of Jesus, he wrote to him asking for his help.

I'm not Catholic, but as a history geek I am excited to go see this.  And so soon after "Arms and Armour of Imperial Austria"!  I feel like I'm visiting Europe.  I guess Europe is visiting us.

Is this the same exhibit that was at Cincinnati's Museum Center a few years back? I really regret missing that one and certainly would like to see this, regardless.

If I could make it up to Cleveland from Dayton for the Baseball HOF exhibit last summer, I certainly can drive up for this. Like X, not Catholic, but a history, ahem, aficionado.

I'm not sure if it is the same one that was in Cincy, but there are only 3 cities hosting it this year. I went to it last week and I enjoyed it.

Also included with the purchase of the ticket you can visit the rest of the museum as well which includes the Crawford Automobile Museum, which have some really nice older cars and a few concept cars as well. They also currently have the Louis Stokes and a Cleveland Indians memorabilia, as well as other things from the city. Usually they also give you a tour of the Mansion but it is currently being renovated and are not doing those tours until later this year. All in all it was a really good deal and enjoyable.

Western Reserve History Society rating is getting absolutely destroyed right now from random people (mostly moms) from across the country giving "1-star"

WRHS apologied on behalf of its two employees last night, and again today multiple times, including outlining next steps to make sure it doesn't happen again.... yet the world of internet shaming continues to pour in:
