SocketSite notes that a slew of new renderings of the forthcoming Transbay Transit Center have surfaced on architect Pelli Clarke Pelli's website. In celebration, we've gathered the newcomers (and a few old favorites) into the photogallery above. Bonus Tranny Shack news, also via SS: there's another community meeting tonight to discuss the plans and putative progress. Sassy, so sassy.

Wow. It's bought time SF builds something big. Big projects like this have developed at a crawl over the last decade. Viva San Francisco!

Edit: What's the total height on this?

It looks kinda like 2IFC in Hong Kong.

yeah, thats what the curbed commentary said too. i took a look at the hk pelli and i agree. its way too easy to spot a pelli -- this one looks very functional and nice, but it's not real creative in the tower design dept.

otoh the transit part looks pretty clever. that's much more interesting.

My first thought exactly. I just didn't want to be the first to say it...

ugh. this is the crowning glory of the commercial real estate bubble. office vacancy in SF is 18% and rising, and depending on which research you consult, it's worse than Cleveland's office market. I think this boondoggle is going to go the way of the chicago spire.
