March 18, 200817 yr ^ESPN has bias? haha, on what? SPORTS?? It does. East Coast bias. ESPN is about the only thing I watch on tv, I really have never noticed any type of bias towards any team in any sport. Maybe college basketball, because of the larger amount of high profile teams in the East. I do agree that they play the Yankees and Red Sox ENTIRELY too much, but that is because of audience demand. I will try to pay more attention on how the coverage is spread (or not) out.
March 18, 200817 yr ^ at least we wont have to hear if joe torre gets a hangnail anymore. given your little crush on her, i can understand your jealousy (haha - i'm the same way for cnbc's maria bartiromo). however, it's quite obvous that anderson cooper is the last person in line as a rival for your affections. ahem, ifyouknowwhatimean. so you are definately still in play uncky rando! as for cnn bias, i see it, but i get way waaaay waaaaaaay more upset with espn about that kind of thing. :whip: Hey...don't be talkin' about my boy Coop! Enough with this already!! Besides, Rando has NO shot! period! and MRNYC, you know you my boy, but be glad you're married because MB is one B! And not in the "good way" if youknowwhatimsayin' yeah ive heard that about her and its even obvious just watching her she's super high maintainence & no tame girly girl type -- but you clearly underestimate my ability to break wild horses and turn wildcats into pussycats. :wink2: umm, err, if you see this just kidding honey.
March 18, 200817 yr I hate CNN headline news. Used to be good and informative, now it's that busybody Nancy Grace and that windbag asshole Glenn Beck all the time at night. It's complete crap, I don't respect CNN any more than fox news at this point. BBC world news is about the only thing worth watching.
March 18, 200817 yr Hey...don't be talkin' about my boy Coop! Enough with this already!! Besides, Rando has NO shot! period! Thanks buzz kill...but clearly you haven't seen UncleRando in action. :wink2: And what did I tell you earlier. Did you clearly understand what I was telling you? Please reread those post. I got it. It was as Ann as the nose on Plain's face.
March 18, 200817 yr Here is a helicopter shot of Atlanta. My staff has been moved to another building. The damage to the Omni & CNN building was bad, but the equitable building and westin have sustained major damage. The sundial restaurant is closed. http://www.wsbtv.com/video/15604338/index.html
March 18, 200817 yr I wonder if people in charge of program content all even live in Atlanta; I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of them didn't. I wish that Erica Hill worked out of the Atlanta center. :fight: That is one hot MILF

I wish that Erica Hill worked out of the Atlanta center. :fight: That is one hot MILF I hate that term. Some kids that go to school with my nephew said that about my mom. He was so embarrased. Especially since it was his grandmother not his mother!
March 18, 200817 yr Hahahahaha. Arent you thinking about adopting? Maybe the guys will start calling you a DILF
March 18, 200817 yr Hahahahaha. Arent you thinking about adopting? Maybe the guys will start calling you a DILF ewwwwwwwwwwwww
March 19, 200817 yr I don't think ESPN has bias toward any cities or teams, but they have found a way to turn sports reporting into propaganda.
March 19, 200817 yr Also, we can never forgive CNN for taking away Miss Ohio: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XEfHURMDwk But I can take solace in the fact that since she's down at that stupid CNN building every morning at 4am she's not laying next to her geek-ass husband. But you have to hand it to her. She does a great job acting like she doesn't know she's fine. Occasionally in this life we encounter a young lady who doesn't realize she's fine, making her all the more fine. This kind of girl goes out with only the lamest guys up to the point when she realizes she's fine, after which she goes out with jerks and gets messed up in the head and ruined for the rest of us.
March 19, 200817 yr Also, I need to add that on one precious occasion I actually asked out a young lady of her caliber and that young lady actually said yes. On our first date we went to an Indian restaurant, an art opening, and then...yes sweet mother of mary back to her dorm room. Unfortunately the Indian food started doing figure-8's and I had to bail before I yacked. Story of my life. We went out a few more times over ensuing weeks. But I messed it up and she slipped away. Then she realized she was Fine and my attempts to pick back up where it left off two years later only got me one or two dates and then it was really over. Actually, here's what happened...we had a stag valentine's party at my house and I happened to run into her on the street a few days before. She actually showed up with two friends but then she left right away. Turns out the guy she had just broken up with ALSO showed up to our party. Disaster. Then, she came to a party I was at a week or two later with a married friend. Not a good sign. In my inexperience I didn't understand what was going on and they successfully lured me away from the party. I should have told them NO I'm not hungry, I'll call you soon, but I took the bait. I was helpless in the presence of her Fineness. At that point she had the power and barely said bye when it was time to, uh, you know. She said call me after spring break and I did but we never went out after that. I'm going to cry now.
March 19, 200817 yr Guys get accused of only being as faithful as their options but women really are no different, and if they're with an ugly dude, high school dropout, etc it's because they know they can control them. I'm still in an age group where women get off on playing mind games and provoke jealousy out of men, which sucks. I REFUSE to put up with any sort of BS from women at all and that is why I'm always single and probably won't be married until I'm 35-40. Not all women are like that but the ones in college certainly seem to take the cake.
March 19, 200817 yr I don't think ESPN has bias toward any cities or teams, but they have found a way to turn sports reporting into propaganda. You must not watch ESPN. There are various examples of when some ridiculous story about the Yankees or Red Sox makes the headlines when a much more significant story about another team is buried. see http://thebiglead.com/?p=5044 (thanks lostincincinnati)
March 19, 200817 yr ^That's not necessarily a bias toward those teams, just a focus on which teams get ratings.
March 19, 200817 yr It is ESPN, they have already established their agenda on who watches it. I would much rather watch a different baseball team every week, than a different baseball team playing the Yankees every week. That is pretty much what it boils down to on ESPN. The game of the week is usually who ever is playing the Yankees that night. Granted, with the lopsided scheduling that baseball has with teams playing the majority of their game against divisional rivals, You will see the Yankees and Red Sox play, what it seems like, every night on ESPN. That link might be a one time coincidence about the Yankees, but I find it to be the case more than not. I would love to watch Seattle play, or the Texas Rangers much rather than the Yankees every night. --off soapbox
March 19, 200817 yr The reason why you see so much New York & Boston coverage?? I'm surprised none of you kids have mentioned this. Where is ESPN's HQ?? Bristol-stinkin'-Conn! Smack dab in the middle of NYC and Boston. Hence their "boosterism" of the AL East & the Big East and "local/regional" teams and sports.
March 19, 200817 yr ^So, if ESPN was based out of Denver, we would be flooded with Broncos/Rockies and Nuggets coverage?
March 19, 200817 yr ^So, if ESPN was based out of Denver, we would be flooded with Broncos/Rockies and Nuggets coverage? I don't run their business nor would I want to speculate on that type of programming. I only based my answer on past programming (not ratings or ad revenue - since I don't have access to their information), but it "appears" that their location plays in part to what they broadcast. However, I've noticed they do put emphasis on teams that they have large sales offices AND broadcast centers.
March 19, 200817 yr We will agree to disagree. This argument could obvious go on forever citing many examples. What ESPN does need is an anchor like Erica Hill....
March 20, 200817 yr They didn't take Robin Meade from Ohio, they just gave her to the world. Gawrsh she's purty. Someday I'm goan marry you, girl. I mean, presuming my wife is ok with that....
